Wakiso Giants wrapped up the first round of the Uganda Premier League with just 12 points from 15 games which leaves the side in a worrying state.
As the second round kicks off, the Purple Sharks are eager to turn their season around, starting with a crucial match against SC Villa at Kabaka Kyabaggu on Tuesday evening.
Speaking ahead of the game, Wakiso Giants head coach Steven Bengo expressed confidence in his squad's readiness.
"The boys are motivated and ready to fight for the badge," Bengo stated before adding; "We are facing a team that heavily defeated us in the first leg, but a lot has changed since then."
He further emphasized the team’s renewed focus: "We have prepared to win, and we plan to approach every game in the second round with a winning mentality."
Wakiso Giants have received a boost with the return of midfielder Rahmat Senfuka from injury. Additionally, the team has strengthened its squad with the signings of Moses Oloya, Godfrey Omoki, and Fazil Tumwine.
Meanwhile, SC Villa has also reinforced its squad, bringing in experienced forward Sula Matovu alongside promising youngsters Ashraf Mulindi, Brian Masembe and Raymond Barasa.
With both sides eager to make a strong start to the second round, fans can expect an intense battle at Kabaka Kyabaggu.
