Uganda Netball Federation held an awards dinner on Tuesday night at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.
The now vibrant federation headed by Sarah Babirye Kityo was holding such as an event that celebrates and honours netball talents from across the divisions for the first time.
Weyonje Netball Club’s Goal Defender Shakirah Nassaka was the biggest winner on the night as she was named the Best Player of the Season.
Nassaka beat her teammate and the season's top scorer Asinah Kabendela as well as league winner Margret Baagala (NIC) to the top gong.
Other Winners
Bashir Matovu (SMASH Netball Club) was named the league MVP despite his side finishing sixth on the ten-team log. He shook off competition from Moses Mugisha (Prisons NC) and John Kizito John of league winners Kampala University.
Sandra Nambirige (KCCA Netball Club) took the Promising Player Award, Shadia Nassanga Ssegujja (KCCA Netball Club) took home the Most Improved Player of the Season award and the Presidential Award went to former UNF President Rebecca Kavulu.
Vincent Kiwanuka (NIC) was named the Best Coach and Jackson Kayira (Head of Media at the federation) was awarded the Best UNF Employee.
