Crested Cranes' journey at the 2022 Women Africa Cup of Nations ended with a 2-2 draw against Burkina Faso at Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca.

It was a disappointing result for the Crested Cranes who failed to capitalize on their numerical advantage against their opponents who played 73 minutes a player less.

Margaret Kunihira, playing her first game at the tournament, handed Uganda a dream start and the side looked poised for the win when Burkina Faso centre-back Madinatou Rouamba was given marching orders in the 17th minute.

However, the West Africans twice came from down to share the points.

Adama Congo strolled past Aisha Nantongo and Margaret Namirimu to slot in an equalizer in the 35th minute.

Sandra Nabweteme benefited from a misplaced pass from Alimata Belem to bundle in from just outside the box as Crested Cranes regained their lead shortly after.

Burkina Faso was back into the tie when Daisy Nakaziro who started in goal ahead made a mess of a tameable cross from Balkissa Sawadogo for Naomie Adele Kabre to level matters before halftime.

Lilian Mutuuzo and Ritah Kivumbi came close with the latter getting two good chances earlier to put Uganda ahead but fluffed both opportunities.

It was a one-sided second half but Burkina Faso twice threatened on the counterattack, with Namirimu making a good intervention on the last one to save the day.

Uganda leaves the tournament with a point to show and cannot be faulted for losses to Morocco and Senegal having played well.
