Uganda 63 – 26 Northern Ireland
Uganda Netball She Cranes registered their second win at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth games when they dispatched Northern Ireland on Wednesday.
Head coach Fred Mugerwa's ladies were favourites going into the second match of day 6, ranked 6th in the World Netball World Rankings, Northern Ireland 11th.
Northern Ireland had a tough start, struggling to get the ball to their shooters but also dealing with the height of Mary Cholhok at goal shooter.
Uganda's confidence kept rising as the game progressed, netting 17 goals in that quarter to lead at half-time 28 – 11.
She Cranes dominated the second half, with their defence putting significant pressure on the Northern Ireland attack and at the third quarter break Uganda led 45 – 19.
In the final quarter, the She Cranes showed no sign of relaxing and the final score was Uganda 63 – 26 Northern Ireland, giving Uganda their second win after the 62 – 28 success over Trinidad and Tobago.
