Ugandan sprinter Tarsis Orogot currently based in the USA has called for more emphasis on nutrition and mental preparation in local athletics. Orogot was comparing differences in his experience from Uganda and overseas. He feels more could be done in the direction of nutrition and mental training. In a chat with Daily Monitor, Orogot who posted the fastest 10 times by a Ugandan man over the 200m distance, including fifth-place finishes at the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Finals said; "It’s totally different, from preparation, nutrition and mental preparation but the training is the same in Uganda," he said of the differences between USA athletics and Uganda. "We just have to add those other key components and we shall get as competitive because we already have the talent in place." Orogot intends to look forward to remaining healthy and living right. He also wants to get more races in his second event which is the 100m. He is currently on a four-year education-athletics scholarship at the University of Alabama in the USA.
