Uganda Cricket Cranes coach Lawrence Mahatlane is keen on offering more youngsters opportunities to craft their art at the top stage.

Despite a failed T20 World Cup and Challenge League B campaign, the South African is looking to open more doors for younger stars on the national team.

Exciting teenager Juma Miyagi has recently been offered the chance to deliver for the Cranes but he will now be joined by U19 captain Pascal Murungi, Joseph Baguma, and Munir Ismail.

The trio has started training with the national team alongside U19 World Cup wicket-keeper Cyrus Kakuru.

"It’s important to know and understand our depth and if players can handle international pressure," Mahatlane told Daily Monitor.

"The main aim is to give them experience around the national team. No one really knows when the right time is. Frank Nsubuga got picked at 16.

"These two youngsters were outstanding at the World Cup. They bring energy and freshness. I am sure they would want to put their hands up for future selection," he added.

Cricket Cranes' next assignment will be the ICC Africa Men's T20 Cup which will take place between September 16th to 23rd at Willowmoore Park in South Africa.
