FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel has sanctioned Busoga United following an abandoned game against Express due to fan violence at Kakindu Stadium on November 16. Allan Kayiwa scored from a freekick to hand Express a late lead against hosts Busoga United before ugly scenes ensued as the home fans pelted stones onto the field of play leading to the abandoning of the match. The Disciplinary panel has ruled that Busoga United lose the game by forfeiture (3-0) and has also been deducted three more points for indiscipline. “Busoga United has lost UPL Match No. 52 that was played on Wednesday 16.11.2022 at Kakindu Stadium by forfeiture. “Busoga United FC has also been handed an immediate three (3) points and three (3) goals deduction from those already accumulated by the club this season,” reads the statement in part. The sanction leaves Busoga United with three points while the Red Eagles move to 14 points. Busoga United have been further warned, and if the events are repeated, they will host five games away from home behind closed doors. Further investigations on Club Chairperson Diana Nyago are ongoing after she reportedly denied Express FC access to the dressing room as per the referee's match report.
