According to FUFA, a new date for the clash will be confirmed later after discussions.

“We continue to send our commiserations to the family, friends, URA FC and the football fraternity at large,” the statement concluded.

Uganda Premier League side Wakiso Giants have confirmed the acquisition of Bashir Asiku as their latest signing in the ongoing transfer window.

Asiku joined the Purple Sharks shortly after he was released by national champions Vipers SC where he was deemed to be a surplus.

Kampala Queens 1-1 CBE FC

Zainah Nandede scored late as Kampala Queens and CBE shared spoils in a one-all draw at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Friday.

It was the second time for Kampala Queens to drop points after earlier falling in a 2-1 loss to Burundi’s Buja Queens.

In the second minute, Loza Abera Geinore rounded off Kampala Queens goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro before she tapped into an empty net.

Mesay Temesgen Tanga released a defense-splitting pass sighting Loza and CBE’s captain made no mistake from close range.

Twelve minutes later, Elizabeth Nakigozi delivered a darling cross into the area but Hasifah Nassuna was late hence missing a clear-cut chance.

Aregash Kalsa Tadese was a thorn in Kampala Queens’ defense line as her pace was too much to handle but her delivery was often weak.

Charles Samuel Nsaziro introduced Zainah Nandede to replace Rwadan forward Imanizabayo Florence creating more pace upfront.

Hadija Nandago and Shamirah Nalugya replaced Nassuna and Matama Damali.

Fazila Ikwaput nearly gave Kampala Queens a leveller after beating the goalkeeper but defender Berka Amare Dagne cleared her lines.

Kampala Queens came close once again but Catherine Nagadya and Nandago failed to communicate after Ikwaput set up searching the duo.

In the 76th minute, Loza released Medina Awol on the left flank who laid a cut back but the captain’s resultant effort went slightly above the frame.

The draw keeps CBE’s top of the log while Kampala Queens are second with four points having played three games.

Yei Joint Stars picked their maiden victory in the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League Zonal qualifiers after falling in the opening clash.

Yei Joint Stars registered a 2-0 victory against FAD FC in the ongoing Zoanal Qualifiers at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Friday.

The game started at a slow pace as both sides struggled to find the right rhythm needed for the game that attracted low numbers.

It was a clash of wounded buffaloes since none of the sides had picked a point in their earlier outings on the green turf.

In the 13th minute, there was a mix-up in FAD’s backline before the goalkeeper Soubane Ahmed Omar threw the ball into her own net.

From there onwards, FAD tried to get back into the game but their fitness levels were so low they failed to run after the slowest of passes.

As the first stanza was looming, Yei Stars nearly extended the lead but FAD’s backline teamed up to lay a very strong block.

Just like it was in the first half, the game’s tempo grew in the last ten minutes of the game as FAD looked for a leveller while Yei Joint Stars were keeping their lead intact.

With a minute to the final whistle, Eunice Kilega found the back of the net thus doubling Yei Joint Stars’s lead and awarding them golden three points.

The victory takes them to three points levelled with Buja Queens and Kampala Queens who are at three points too.

JKT Queens registered the second victory in as many games of the CAF Women Champions League Zonal Qualifiers to maintain positive momentum.

The Champions of Tanzania picked a 1-0 victory against Zanzibar’s New Generation in a game played at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Wednesday.

The only but all-important goal was scored by Esther Mabanza to give JKT maximum points on the day.

The JKT Queens were the better side in the first stanza but failed to utilize their chances hence firing blanks by the end of the first 45 minutes.

Eleven minutes into the second stanza, Mabanza finally broke the deadlock to give JKT Queens a well-deserved lead after a long hunt.

It was a well-crafted goal since Mananza, hit the ball hard to guide it into the left bottom corner leaving New Generation’s goalkeeper Faraja Kimnola with no choice.

The result meant it was the second win for the JKT Queens having defeated AS Kigali 2-1 in their opening duel.

JKT will play Vihiga Queens of Kenya in their last game of Group B.
