FUFA Big League side Mbale Heroes FC has confirmed forward Ibrahim Nsimbe as their first signing.

After gaining promotion to Big League, Mbale Heroes will seek to strengthen their squad so that they assemble an arsenal to see them enter the Uganda Premier League.

Nsimbe joins Mbale Heroes from BUL FC, a side that released him during a recent reshuffle at the Jinja-based side.

The transfer deal was brought to the public through a statement.

“We are pleased to announce the signing of the highly talented and experienced goal-hunter Ibrahim Nsimbe,” a statement partly read.

“With his proven track record and remarkable skills on the field, we are confident that Nsimbe will make a significant impact on our team’s performance.”

“We welcome Ibrahim Nsimbe and look forward to witnessing his exceptional performances in the upcoming seasons.”

In the 2022-21 season, Nsimbe scored up to 10 goals for MYDA in the UPL, earlier he had walked away with the golden boot in the FUFA Big League in the previous campaign.

Vipers SC edged Kagera in a 2-1 victory in the international club friendly that was played at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Tuesday evening.

Abdul Lumala and Rodriguez Giancarlo were on target for the Uganda Premier League defending champions while Kagera Sugar’s lonely strike came through Hamis Diego Kizza.

The Venoms nearly opened the scoring through Milton Karisa but his venomous shot was punched over the frame.

In the 27th minute, Abdul Lumala finally broke the deadlock with a close-range tap-in thanks to Ashraf Mandela’s well-weighted delivery.

With three minutes to end the first stanza, Isa Mubiru came so close to doubling Vipers SC’s lead but Kagera Sugar’s custodian made a brilliant save.

Two minutes into the second half, Brazilian forward Rodriguez announced his name to the Vipers faithful with a cool calm finish capitalizing on Yunus Sentamu’s assist.

In the 76th minute, veteran striker Kizza gave the visitors a consolation through a strike from the 12-yard mark.

In the final minutes, Giancarlo nearly widened the lead through a powerful freekick but the custodian dealt with it with the needed accuracy.

Friends of Soccer picked their maiden victory against Mbarara Soccer Academy in the FUFA Juniors League at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Tuesday.

Friends of Soccer registered a 3-1 victory against Mbarara Soccer Academy to finally have something to celebrate about.

Three minutes into the second stanza, Friends of Soccer forward was tripped in the dangerous area to give the side a penalty.

Abdu Musinguzi stepped up on the occasion and converted from the 12-yard spot hence giving Friends of Soccer the lead.

Four minutes later, Mbarara SA were also awarded a penalty and Ronnie Asiimwe hardly made a mistake from the spot thus leveling matters.

In the 59th minute, Nelson Thomas Ngambeki found the back of the net to restore Friends of Soccer’s lead in the close-contested game.

With eight minutes to the 90th minute, Ngambeki completed a personal brace hence scoring the third for Friends of Soccer to seal off the maiden win.

Next on the menu, Mbarara SA will face Prosper Soccer Academy on Thursday, August 3 while Friends of Soccer lock horns with BUL on Friday, August 4.

FUFA has finally confirmed the fixture of the upcoming Super 8 showdown.

After four years of no action, the tournament returns to act as the curtain raiser ahead of the 2023/24 Uganda Premier League season.

It is only the first eight on last year’s UPL log that will tussle for the title before real business gets underway later next month.

However, the Super 8 will kick start on Monday, August 7 as sixteen-time league champions SC Villa host Maroons at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku while the defending champions Vipers will travel to Njeru to face off BUL FC.

Later on Tuesday, August 8, KCCA will lock horns with Wakiso Giants at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo while Arua Hill SC will be on the road to take on URA FC at Metha Grounds, Lugazi.

On Thursday, August 10, the winner between SC Villa and Maroons will play the victor of BUL and Vipers duel at a venue that is yet to be confirmed.

The victor of KCCA FC and Wakiso Giants tie will lock horns with the winner between URA FC and Arua Hill SC.

The dates and venues for the semifinals and finals will also be confirmed soon.

Uganda Premier League side Vipers SC has confirmed Ghanaian forward Fumador Awisome as their eighth and final signing of the transfer window.

Fumador has been awarded a two-year employment contract to play for the Venoms until 2025.

In his maiden interview with Viper SC media, he revealed that its going to be such a good experience to play for the six-time UPL champions.

“I am glad to be here. It is going to be a good experience coming into such a big club,” the Ghanaian forward was quoted by the club’s official website.

“It will be a new challenge because there are top players here, so I am going to give my best and get through the levels,” he added.

The 25-year-old forward will increase the options up front going into what is expected to be a busy campaign for the Kitende-based side.

He will compete for a starting position against Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez, Desire Tety, Abubakar Lawal, and Mohamed Salem Ekbad.

Vipers SC is set to compete in CAF Champions League, Uganda Premier League, FUFA Super 8, and Uganda Cup in the 2023/24 campaign.

The UPL defending champions have already announced the arrival of Ekbad, Giancarlo Rodriguez, Luiz Otavio Santos de Araujo alias Tinga, Richard Matovu, David Bagoole, Grant Matsiko and Paul Patrick Mbowa.

A brief about Fumador

Defender Enock Walusimbi has finally returned to Uganda Premier League, joining URA FC in the ongoing transfer window.

Walusimbi joined URA FC as a free agent after being released by Scottish side Peterhead Football Club.

Walusimbi has previously played for Express FC and Bright Stars where he staged tremendous performances thus proving his worth on the field of play.

In the 2020/21 campaign, he lifted the Uganda Premier League as the captain of Express FC.

He later went on to win the CECAFA Kagame Cup in Dar es Salaam to seal off his most successful campaign in his football journey.

After the thrilling show, he flew out hence sealing off a deal to join the Scottish side Peterhead FC.

But his stay there was far from required after making only six appearances in the previous season.

His move to URA FC gives him a chance to reignite his footballing journey and chance his dreams once again.

Uganda registered a 7-0 well deserved victory against Burundi in the CECAFA Women’s U-18 Championship at Azam Complex in Tanzania on Tuesday.

Uganda struggled to beat Ethiopia in the championship opener, they later put three past Zanzibar before obliterating Burundi.

Agnes Nabukenya opened the floodgates in the fifth minute to put Uganda in the driving seat.

In the 32nd minute, Kamiyat Naigaga doubled the lead rewarding Ayub Khalifa’s troops that were in full control of the game.

In the 46th minute, Naigaga completed a personal brace hence setting the much-needed pace after the recess.

BUL Junior Team thrashed Mbarara Soccer Academy 5-0 in the FUFA Juniors League at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

Swabir Mpasa scored a hatrick while Richard Okello grabbed a brace to complete a rout against Mbarara Soccer Academy.

Four minutes past half an hour mark, BUL took the lead through pacy and ambitious Mpasa to send the home crowd onto their feet.

By half time, BUL were counting only one goal but with a dominant display thus proving their class far beyond Mbarara SA.

On the hour mark, Okello doubled BUL’s lead through a thrilling finish before he made it three just after a minute.

With a minute to hit the 90th minute, Mpasa scored the fourth before he completed a hat trick a minute later to place the icing on the cake.

The victory sends a warning to Prosper Soccer Academy and Vipers Junior Team who are still unbeaten in the ongoing championship.

In the earlier game, Vipers JT beat Friends of Soccer 6-0 marking their second victory in the two games

Vipers JT registered a 6-0 victory against Friends of Soccer in the one sided encounter in the FUFA Juniors League played at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

Roving midfielder Frank Ssekanjako awarded Vipers JT an early lead just three minutes into the game.

Farouk Tumwesigye’s pace and trickery created chaos and havoc in Friends of Soccer’s defense, he created several chances but non was buried.

By halftime, Vipers would have a bigger margin upfront but their forwards were so wasteful hence not making use of the numerous chances created.

Just like it was in the first stanza, Vipers SC found the back of the net early in the 48th minute.

The pin-sized playmaker Tumwesigye finally harvested, bagging a goal. The well crafted goal extended Vipers JT lead to cement their position in the driving seat.

In the 57th minute, Ibra Ssebagala scored Vipers’ third goal before Ssekanjako scored fourth to ruthlessly widen the gap between the two sides.

Second half substitute Leonard Kasaanya also got his name on the score sheet hence adding salt into Friends of Soccer’s wounds.

The creator of the fourth goal, Arafat Nkola hit the last nail in Friends of Soccer FC’s coffin hence sealing a well deserved victory.

It’s the second victory in the row for Vipers JT after beating Mbarara Soccer Academy 2-1 yesterday in a tight game.

KCCA FC has confirmed loaning out two midfielders Ssenoga Muhammad Kagawa and Emmanuel Wasswa at Wakiso Giants FC and Express FC respectively.

According to the club, Ssenoga and Wasswa have two years left on their current contracts with KCCA FC and have been sent on loan to amass more game time.

“The loan deal has a clause that allows KCCA FC to revoke and have any of the players return after the first round of the 2023/24 season,” a statement read on the club’s website.

Wakiso Giants FC finished 8th while Express FC finished 10th in the StarTimes Uganda Premier league last season.
