Uganda registered a 1-0 hard-fought victory against Rwanda in the 2024 Olympics Women Football Qualifiers at Pele Stadium, Kigali on Sunday.

It was the second leg after the two sides shared spoils earlier in a 3-3 stalemate played on Wednesday last week.

Nabweteme earlier set up Shamirah Nalugya but the midfielder’s effort was weak hence being collected by Rwanda’s goalkeeper Angeline Ndakimana.

Fauzia Najjemba was once again denied space to look at the goal, she was tightly marked from word go hence having a limited impact on the game.

The partnership of Aisha Nantongo and Shadia Nankya was way better and more organised than how it looked in the first leg.

Uganda will continue with the route into the Olympic qualifiers as they fight to get one of the two tickets on the mega stage.
