Morley Byekwaso is wary of the threat posed by experienced Gaddafi ahead of his club’s meeting with the Jinja-based side on Tuesday.

The Kasasiro are in good form at the moment and have won three times and drawn the other since suffering the shock defeat to Maroons last month.

KCCA beat rivals SC Villa 3-0 and Byekwaso says winning against Gaddafi is now the main target.

“We are playing Gaddafi a side with a good coach, experienced players who are proven but the most important thing is to win,” he told the club website. “We are home and we will have to use the home advantage against them,” he added.

The KCCA gaffer could have the option of striker Muhammad Shaban available after he missed several games due to injury but John Revita, and Denis Iguma (injury) are unavailable.

For Gaddafi, it will be the first game without the suspended duo of Wasswa Bbosa and Godfrey Lwesibawa who were sanctioned following their inappropriate actions in the defeat at Wakiso Giants.

The two sides have met twice with all winning once in the league last season.

The federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has lifted the ban on the Federation of Kenyan Football (FKF).

This follows a series of negotiations between the two bodies that saw the reinstatement of the old administration.

The World Football governing body imposed the ban in February last year after what they termed as Government intervention.

The Kenya Sports Ministry had disbanded the Football body on grounds of misappropriation of funds with KFK President Nick Mwendwa jailed.

A caretaker committee was then instituted by Government and this propelled FIFA to slap a ban on Kenya early this year a decision that saw all their National teams bundled out of international engagements.

With the change of Government in Kenya, there have been efforts to have the ban lifted spearheaded by the new Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and Arts, Ababu Namwamba.

With the ban lifted, FKF Vice President Doris Petra and General Secretary Barry Otieno have all been reinstated in the office while President Mwendwa who is still battling a court case remains suspended.

Vipers moved within a point of leaders Wakiso Giants after beating 10-man SC Villa 2-0 at Kitende on Tuesday.

Yunus Sentamu and Karim Watambala netted in either half to give the hosts all three points. Sentamu tapped home after goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige failed to handle a free kick in the 22nd minute.

Villa’s Travis Mutyaba was introduced two minutes into the second half to instill creativity in the Villa attack but midfielder Davis Ssekajja was sent off for a second bookable offense on Milton Karisa in the 53rd minute.

The blue boys never gave up but any hope of salvaging a point was extinguished when Watambala, a second-half substitute for injured Sentamu found the back of the net from just within the area.

Vipers are now on 20 points after nine games while Villa slips to 7th with 14 points.

Next on the menu for the reigning champions is a trip to Gaddafi on Sunday while Villa will host the Maroons in Lira.

Reigning champions will be keen to extend their recent surge in form when they host wounded SC Villa at Kitende on Tuesday.

The Venoms have won five and drawn once since suffering defeat at KCCA and come into the game on the back of a 1-0 win over bogey side URA.

SC Villa was beaten 3-0 by rivals KCCA in Lira although that will be put in the past at Kitende according to Nelly Magera.

“The KCCA game is behind us and we have worked on the mistakes made,” said Magera whose side has lost two of the last five games.

Yunus Sentamu is a doubt for the hosts after a groin injury kept him out of the win at URA but he trained with the team and will probably get some minutes.

His presence takes the pressure off skipper Milton Karisa while forwards Abubaker Lawal, Cromwell Rwothomio, and Mbaka will be aiming to open their account for the Venoms.

Villa will look to Charles Bbaale, Seif Batte, and youngsters Patrick Kakande and the returning Travis Mutyaba for inspiration.

Vipers are 3rd on the log with 17 points while Villa is 6th with three less.
