She Corporate FC vs Kampala Queens – MUBS Arena, Nakawa (Live on FUFA TV)

All games kickoff at 10:00 AM

She Corporate team head coach Hassan Issa feels his troops are ready to face Kampala Queens and hoping for maximum points.

She Corporate FC and Kampala Queens face off in arguably the biggest fixture of the weekend in the women’s competition.

“We come into Sunday’s game ready to compete and secure our first win of the season,” he told media.

“We could not earn maximum points in the game against Makerere University but we have worked on the mistakes made in the last days and all we need on Sunday is three points,” he said.

She Corporate is the defending champion of the league and Issa’s goal this season is to win it again.

“The target is to retain our crown and that definitely comes with pressure because the rest of the nine teams are looking at us but we know how to handle that and our focus is to take a game at a time,” Issa added.

She Corporate FC is unbeaten against Kampala Queens in the last four League games, winning two while the other two (both from last season) ended in draws.

Bob Olouch has been loaned to Bright Stars six months after signing a three-year contract at Vipers SC.

The defender joined the Asap Mwebaze-coached side on a season-long loan.

The former KJT Rwenshama player joined the Venoms in January this year after spending close to a decade in Sweden.

He becomes the eighth player to be unveiled by the club and joins Vipers’ teammate Emmanuel Munoobi who also joined on loan.

Others are strikers Sam Ssenyonjo and Amis Muwonge from KCCA and Onduparaka respectively, Noordin Bunjo from Proline, Ashraf Mulindi from Kataka FC and Alex Mandela who was at Kigezi Home Boyz.

The Kawempe-based side is expected to unveil more players including another Vipers player Frank Kato Kizanyiro.

The club has also let go of several players including Marvin Youngman, Derrick Ngoobi, and Andrew Kaggwa among others.

New Kampala Queens forward Hasifa Nassuna is likely to miss her team tie against She Corporates on Sunday in the Fufa Women Super League.

The former UCU sharpshooter was officially unveiled this week on Monday at the Kabojja-based club as one of the marquee signings in the window.

However, she has only appeared for training once at the club with no clear reason.

Unconfirmed reports however state that some contractual issues between her and the club are not resolved.

The other outstanding issue revolves around her preferred iconic shirt number 10 which is currently owned by Shamira Nalugya.

Kampala Queens defeated league newcomers Asubo Gafford 5-0 on match day one.

Former KCCA FC head coach Mike Hillary Mutebi has been shocked by the return of Allan Okello to the Kasasiro.

Mutebi was head coach when Okello left for Paradou AC in February 2020 signing a four-year contract with the Algerian outfit.

With two years left on his contract, the 22-year-old is back to his boyhood club on a one-year loan deal.

“Is he back?” Mutebi asked Football256 when contacted for a comment. “I blame all that on the club (KCCA) and the player himself (Okello).

“He was supposed to wait for at least another year before leaving in the first place but KCCA and Okello were impatient because they wanted the money.”

“But there is a lot to learn for him given the situation that he is in right now because everything is all about character.”

“He has been challenged but he is still young and there is a chance for him to re-establish himself for a way forward,” he added.

Okello’s move to North Africa has not helped him much and he failed to cement a starting spot on the team.

His move to Paradou was expected to be his gate pass to Europe but he has since met a roadblock, deciding to return home on loan.

“As an Express FC fan, it has always been my dream to sign for the club and play for it. I am happy to finally be back and I am sure I will do my best to help it win,” Kasule told the club media.

Coach Odoch stated: “I have worked with Kasule before, he is a talented and disciplined player who is going to be a great player for both Express FC and Uganda.”

Nassuna has previously featured for Kawempe Muslim in her early days.

Last season, Nassuna reached 100 goals, a milestone only achieved by her in recent times.

She now becomes the latest addition for Kampala Queens after Sumaya Komuntale, Teddy Najjuma, Asia Nakibuuka, goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro, Elizabeth Nakigozi, and Grace Aluka.

Kampala Queens got off to a bright start with a 5-0 win over newcomers Asubo Gafford in their first game of the season played at the IUIU Kabojja Grounds on Sunday.

Ssenyonjo featured in Bright Stars’ pre-season friendly match against his former paymasters KCCA FC.

He was also part of the Uganda U20 national side which took part in the U20 AFCON tournament in Mauritius in 2021.

Ssenyonjo joins Bright Stars who are undergoing a transition under coach Asaph Mwebaze having lost a couple of experienced senior players in the ongoing transfer window.

Bright Stars finished 11th last season with 36 points.
