Buhinga Stadium on the outskirts of Fort Portal will be the center of the bottom of the table clash on Tuesday as Tooro United and Police face off.

The two sides will be targeting maximum points to brighten their chances of survival in the Uganda Premier League.

The hosts have lost nine straight games while the visitors only managed their first season win on Saturday against fellow cellar-dwellers Busoga United at the MTN Omondi Stadium.

Tooro United suffered a narrow defeat at Vipers and looked like a side that still has a fight in them. Returning head coach Edward Golola will hope his side carries the same character and energy exhibited at Kitende when they take on a Police side that has equally struggled this term.

Marvin Oshaba and Denis Ojera will be key for the hosts as they look for elusive points.

On the other hand Herman Wasswa, Brian Muruli, and Juma Balinya will be tasked with the search for goals as Police look to build on the win against Budoga United.

History suggests it will be a close encounter as Tooro United has won 7 of the last 14 league meetings, with Police winning 6 and the other ending in a draw.

“At the back, we have improved and kept two successive clean sheets and we hope to have the efficiency in conversion of the many chances we create,” he said.

Vipers who struggled against the league’s worst team Tooro United over the weekend and will need to be better if they are to get maximum points away from home.

History favours Vipers who are unbeaten against Soltilo Bright Stars in the past 15 league meetings (W 8, D7). The Venoms have won 4 of the last 8 away games to Bright Stars including the previous two visits.

Sports Club Villa and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) settled for one-all draw at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

KCCA took the lead through a powerful header from Rogers Mato off Brian Majwega’s corner kick in the 70th minute.

SC Villa players and fans bitterly protested the goal that they thought had gone out and through the loose goal net.

The Jogoos however replied with a well taken penalty from substitute Benson Muhindo in the first of the five added minutes.

Muhindo beat KCCA goalkeeper and captain Benjamin Ochan from 12 yards, slotting the ball to the left as Ochan dived the wrong way.

This was KCCA’s third draw of the season in 11 games as they remain top of the 16 league table standings on 27 points, four points adrift from second Vipers.

The Jogoos remain 12th on the log with 10 points off 10 matches played thus far.

Arua Hill SC overcame a resilient UPDF FC to win 2-1 on Saturday at Barifa Stadium.

The Leopards were bouyed by midfielder Gadafi Wahab and second half substitute Rashid Kawawa who scored a goal each to guide the home side to victory.

On the other hand, the visitors secured their consolation through forward Ivan Ahimbisibwe.

Wahab fired Arua Hill into the lead in the 11th minute off a well taken free kick that beat Goalkeeper Brian Bwete.

The lead was however short-lived with UPDF FC leveling matters through Ahimbisibwe.

The match winning goal came from substitute Kawawa who scored with his first touch after coming on.

The forward had replaced Ivan Eyamu in the 67th minute.

Arua Hill leapfrog UPDF in the 6th position with 18 points while Army side drop a slot down to 7th on 17 points.

KCCA Football Club makes a short trip to Buikwe to take on perennial rivals SC Villa at the Fufa Technical Center in Njeru.

With 17 points between pace setters KCCA and struggling SC Villa, a gap which could go to a whopping 20 by the close of the day as the visitors go into the tie as clear favourites.

However, KCCA boss Morley Byekwaso has played down the favourites tag saying his team goes into the game as underdogs.

“So much anticipation and the magnitude of the game sometimes comes into play. I have tasked my players to manage the game very well and ensure we pick three points. We go into the game as underdogs,” Beykwaso said.

The gaffer however wants his team to maintain the current form. The Kasasiro have dropped just four points this term, all coming off two draws.

“We want to go all out and maintain the current form we have had this season.

“We know Villa have some young lads that are good on the ball and we have prepared well for them. This is a derby and games like these are never easy.”

While they have the ability to score, SC Villa has been loose in the back which has been their major undoing this term and Greek coach Petros Koukouras is well aware of his team’s Achilles.

“The truth is that we concede easy goals. We have dropped so many points lately because of late goals. In the last 3 games only instead of 7 points, we managed to collect only 2 because of that issue. It is something that we work on but also it comes with experience. None of these goals were from open play. All of them were from set-pieces.”

“We know KCCA has a very strong team and they are the favorites in this game but we have a huge motivation to be the first team to beat them this season.”

Eric Kambale scored the only game of the match as Express Football Club overcome Gaddafi Football Club at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

The forward rose highest to nod home Sadiq Ssekyembe’s corner kick in the 40th minute.

The Red Eagles could have won the game with a bigger margin but were undone by the poor finishing.

Godfrey Lwesibawa and Charles Musiige were the culprits of porous finishing in a game that the hosts were in control for most of the duration.

While Gaddafi looked solid at the back, the never really troubled Express going forward.

Express’ fifth win of the season moves them to 19 points after 11 games but remains in 5th place after Wakiso Giants earned a point away in Mbarara.

Gaddafi, on the other hand, suffered their fourth defeat of the season and remain on 13 points, and stays put in 10th place.
