Kawempe Muslim secured a 3-0 victory against Wakiso Hill in the Women Super League at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, on Sunday morning.

Wakiso Hill suffered a big blow in the 13th minute as Halimah Kasuubo was stretchered off due to an injury.

Agnes Nabukenya failed to convert several chances as the game went into the break with a goalless draw.

Sumaya Nabbuto broke the deadlock in the 66th minute after converting Hadijjah Nandago’s delivery.

In the 75th minute, extended the visitors’ lead with a powerful header into the back of the net off Samalie Nakacwa’s corner kick.

Nabukenya hit the last nail in Wakiso Hill’s coffin as she stretched her season’s tally to four goals in two games.

The hosts completed the game with a man down after Teddy Natongo was sent off after receiving a red card.

The victory sent Kawempe Muslim to six points in two games as they continue to defend their league title.

URA secured a well-deserved 4-0 victory against URA in the Uganda Premier League at the Mbale Municipal Stadium on Saturday.

The game was delayed due to a heavy downpour, but after a while, both sides walked onto the soggy ground before action went underway.

Ivan Ahimbisibwe netted a hattrick in a three-star performance as the forward shooting from all angles of the stadium.

Amisi Bangwani sealed the victory for URA, who condemned Mbale Heroes to the first home victory of the 2024-25 campaign.

Ahimbisibwe placed the visitors in the lead with a powerful header in the 12th minute of the game.

Five minutes later, Ahimbisibwe doubled URA’s lead with a fine finish thanks to Moses Aliro’s delivery.

Ahimbisibwe sealed his hattrick after scoring the third goal of the day in the 33rd minute as URA added salt in the hosts’ wounds.

Bruno Bunyaga had a big chance to make it four before the break, but Mbale Heroes’ custodian made a massive save.

In the 57th minute, Amisi Bagwani made it by four with a long-range shot as the visitors secured maximum points.

The victory takes URA to third place with seven points while Mbale Heroes are 12th with three points.

Uganda Premier League | Result

Police secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Kitara in the Uganda Premier League encounter on Thursday.

Augustine Kacancu scored the all-but-important goal as the Cops secured maximum points away from home.

It was joy and smiles for Police, who had secured their maiden victory of the 2024-25 campaign, while on the other hand, it was stress and tough faces for Kitara, who lost the third straight game.

Police’s Kacancu broke the deadlock in the 29th minute with a volley past Kitara goalkeeper Jamil Kiyimba.

Isaac Ogwang’s freekick was parried away by Kiyimba, but Kacancu guided the ball into the back of the net off a rebound.

In the 35th minute, Brian James Obedi thought he had doubled the visitors’ lead, but the assistant referee Elizabeth Nassolo flagged it offside.

In the second half, Kitara made several changes to try and create chances in the tight game, but Police stood tall.

Before the end of the game, Patrick Kaddu nearly found the leveller, but his touch off Lutalo’s delivery went narrowly wide.

The victory takes Police to the seventh position with six points while Kitara falls to the 11th place with only three points after four games.

After the international break, Kitara will face off against Mbarara City in the ‘Western Uganda’ derby on Friday, October 18.

On the other hand, Police will face off against Express at Kavumba Recreation Ground, Wakiso, on Sunday, October 20.

Uganda Premier League | Fixture

NEC will be aiming to maintain their perfect run in the Uganda Premier League as we get into matchday four of the 2024-25 campaign.

NEC is set to lock horns with Express in the highly anticipated encounter at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on Thursday.

NEC has kicked off with three straight victories into the campaign, putting them in a great position to contend for the title.

NEC head Hussein Mbalangu opened the lid, revealing that it’s not by mistake that they are in such a position.

“It’s not by mistake that we (NEC) are in this position. We had a great pre-season but also recruited quite well,” Mbalangu said.

“Express is a good team, but we are determined to play against them. So, we have to multiply our effort if we are to pick a positive result,” he added.

On the other hand, Express has managed to collect four points in three games of the season.

Having a balanced head-to-head, the Red Eagles will feel motivated going into the highly anticipated game.

Uganda Premier League | Fixture

Kitara will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Uganda Premier League encounter against Police at Royal Park, Hoima, on Thursday.

Kitara, who are addressed as title contenders, have started the league on a slow note, winning once and losing twice.

Kitara head coach Brian Ssenyondo admitted that they have not been at their best in the previous games but motivated to turn around the tide.

” We come into this game off disappointing results, but we picked some lessons which we hope to carry into the next game and try to overturn the deficit we suffered against NEC,” Ssenyondo stated.

“Going forward, we want to build on that and bounce back with a satisfying performance. We know our opponents will also come motivated, but we have been working on our defence and finishing and expect a better game this time round.”

“Also, the title chase is not over after these two losses. We are still working towards our target this season. We are making steady progress and believe our objectives are still attainable,” he promised.

On the other hand, Police have made three draws in as many games played.

They pose a great threat to Kitara, who will be playing their second game at their new home.

Mbarara City secured a well-deserved 2-0 victory against BUL in the Uganda Premier League at Lugazi Stadium on Wednesday.

Seri Arigumaho scored a brace as the Ankole Lions registered their maiden victory of the 2024-25 league campaign.

It’s not looking good for BUL who have now lost two games on a bounce after being held in two draws.

On-form forward, Arigumaho broke the deadlock in the 40th minute with a powerful shot that pierced the ball through a forest of legs.

Returning for the second half, Reagan Kalyowa and Ibrahim Mugulusi came on to replace Martin Aprem and George Kasonko.

Ten minutes into the second half, Mugulusi came close as his free bounced off the frame as Mbarara custodian Abdul Kimera stuck on his feet.

On top of the hour mark, Arigumaho doubled the visitors’ lead with a simple touch from close range after BUL failed to stop Mbarara’s counterattack.

In the 72nd minute, second-half substitute Yafesi Mubiru failed to make contact with a darling delivery from Mugulusi on the left flank.

The victory takes Mbarara City to the sixth position with five points while BUL is 15th with two points after four games.

Up next, Mbarara City will face off against Kitara on Friday, September 18, while BUL will be away against URA on the same day.

Forward Sadat Happy Anaku has completed his move to Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC.

The pacy forward joins KCCA on a season-long deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Anaku returns to a club that he left in August 2022. At that moment, he joined the Scottish professional football side, Dundee United.

On his return, the forward admitted that he is so happy to be back at KCCA.

“I feel so happy to be back to KCCA FC where it all started. I am eager to compete with my mates to help the club achieve its objectives,” he stated.

“I love the fact that when I came back here, I found several familiar faces in the dressing room, and this place simply feels like home,” he added.

“I am thankful to the club board, management, and Head Coach for having granted me this opportunity to return to KCCA FC, and I can not wait to get started again.”

But his stay at Dundee was short-lived since he did not get enough playing time due to recurring injuries.

Anaku joined KCCA in 2016 while he was still a student at Kibuli Secondary School. He played for the junior side until 2019.

For the time he has spent at the MTN Omondi Stadium, he has scored 83 goals in 52 games for the junior side and 22 goals in 67 games for the senior side.

Uganda Premier League | Fixture

BUL is set to lock horns with Mbarara City in the Uganda Premier League game at Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe on Wednesday.

Both sides come into this game seeking to get their maiden victory of the 2024-25 league campaign, having played three games.

In the three opening League games, either side has drawn twice and lost once, thus collecting two points out of the possible nine.

BUL head coach Abbey Kikomeko admitted that they badly want to finally get off the mark, and they are focused on achieving it.

“After losing our previous game, we desperately need to get the three points,” the gaffer stated.

“We badly want to win against Mbarara City, who denied us the trophy last season, but we’re focused on the present,” he added.

“We have worked on our scoring challenges and will score goals in the game against Mbarara City.”

The gaffer revealed that only Ibrahim Orit is set to miss the game due to an illness that he conducted last week.

Uganda Premier League | Results

UPDF secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Wakiso Giants in the Uganda Premier League clash at Bombo Barracks on Tuesday.

Samuel Ssekamatte fired home a penalty to inspire the Army side to a victory.

Ssekamatte held his nerves before superbly converting from the 12-yard mark, sending the goalkeeper James Alitho the wrong way.

The ball went off Musa Ssegujja’s hand as he tried to clear Christopher Kawagu’s delivery.

It was the Wakiso Giants’ first loss in four games played thus far. After securing two victories and a stalemate in the previous three games.

The Army side’s most chances came through pacy forward Samson Kigozi, but Alitho made two massive blocks.

It was a physical game, but neither side struggled to take full control of the game.

Habert Asiimwe’s effort was cleared off the goalline by defender Benard Muwanga as the Purple Sharks kept knocking.

The victory took UPDF to fourth place with seven points to level Wakiso Giants who are third.

Up next, UPDF will take on KCCA at MTN Omondi Stadium on Saturday, October 19, while Wakiso Giants hosts Vipers on Thursday.

KCCA secured a 1-0 victory against Bright Stars in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Kavumba Recreation Ground on Tuesday.

Derrick Nsibambi was on the scoresheet once again to help the Kasasiro Boys maintain their perfect run.

It was a splendid victory for KCCA, who ended their poor run at Kavumba. They had failed to get maximum points on that ground in the last three meetings.

In the 16th minute, Saidi Mayanja beat his marker on the right flank before he released forward Derrick Nsibambi, but the forward’s effort was saved by goalkeeper Derrick Were.

Ten minutes later, Nsibambi missed a huge opportunity after beating the goalkeeper, Were but the forward’s resultant effort went wide.

At half an hour mark, Nsibambi broke the deadlock. His effort was deflected in the net after going past goalkeeper Were.

Before the start of the second half, the gaffer Abdallah Mubiru introduced Emmanuel Anyama for Nsibambi.

In the 66th minute, defender Musitafa Mujuzi made a massive block to deny Noordin Bunjo from close range.

Shafik Kwikiriza and Haruna Lukwago combined to beat markers, but the latter’s cross went across goal, but Anyama was late.

The victory takes KCCA on top of the log with 10 points while Bright Stars are 13th with two points in four games.
