Uganda Cup | Result

KCCA secured a dominant 4-0 victory over Rwenzori Lions in the Uganda Cup at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, on Tuesday.

James Mubezi scored a brace, while Sadat Anaku and Ettiene Katenga also found the back of the net as KCCA eased past their opponents.

Unmarked left-back Mubezi opened the scoring in the ninth minute, tapping in after Rwenzori Lions failed to clear their lines.

Usama Arafat and Anaku came close to doubling the lead in the first half but were unable to convert their chances.

However, Anaku finally extended KCCA’s lead in the 47th minute, capitalizing on a precise delivery from Mubezi.

Mubezi then completed his brace in the 69th minute with another well-taken finish, making it 3-0 for the hosts.

Katenga sealed the victory in stoppage time with KCCA’s fourth goal, capping off a near-perfect evening for the team.

The win sends KCCA into the quarterfinals as they continue their pursuit of an 11th Uganda Cup title.

Uganda Cup | Results

BUL delivered a resounding 7-0 victory against Total, a team from the FUFA Big League, at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Tuesday.


Jeromy Kirya nearly scored within the first ten minutes, but his attempt went wide after capitalizing on Nicholas Mwere’s cross.


In the 27th minute, Karim Ndugwa was fouled in the penalty area, resulting in a penalty. Jerome Kirya stepped up and successfully converted the spot-kick.


Six minutes later, Ndugwa extended the hosts’ lead, receiving a brilliant pass from Fredrick Ngalo.


Ndugwa scored his third goal in the 47th minute, capitalizing on Isaac Wagoina’s precise delivery, prompting enthusiastic chants from the crowd.

In the final 15 minutes of the match, Total’s defense faltered, and BUL’s relentless attack overwhelmed them.


Lawrence Tezikya, Isaac Wagoina (brace), and Reagan Kalyowa all found the net, securing the largest victory of the campaign for the hosts.

Uganda Cup | Results

SC Villa secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Lugazi in their Uganda Cup encounter at Lugazi Stadium.

Reagan Mpadde scored the decisive goal, earning SC Villa the bragging rights on the day.

Frank Mulimi had an early opportunity to put SC Villa ahead in the 5th minute after being set up by Sula Matovu, but his effort was well saved by the goalkeeper.

Aslam Semakula came close in the 10th minute with a powerful low drive, but his shot went narrowly wide of the target.

Midway through the first half, Elvis Ngonde tested the Lugazi goalkeeper with a powerful strike, but the shot was parried away.

In the 36th minute, Francis Onekalit rose highest in the area, but his header sailed just over the crossbar.

Onekalit thought he had given SC Villa the lead in the 55th minute when he found the back of the net, but his effort was ruled offside by the assistant referee.

With just a minute to the 70th minute mark, SC Villa finally broke the deadlock. Mpadde calmly placed the ball into the back of the net to give his side the lead.

Mbappe had a golden opportunity to double SC Villa’s advantage, but his effort was expertly tipped over for a corner kick.

The victory sends SC Villa into the quarterfinals as they continue their quest for a record-extending 10th Uganda Cup title.

EmmanuelOkwi has called it time on his international as he has officially announced his retirement from Uganda Cranes.

In a statement published on his social media platforms, Okwi expressed delight in representing Uganda.

“Representing my country on the international stage has been a fulfilling dream that came true. Donning the Uganda Cranes shirt always left a special feeling and captaining our team was an absolute privilege and honour,” the statement reads.

“An exciting new era for Ugandan football is coming up with East Africa hosting the CHAN later this August and subsequently the AFCON 2027 with many young footballers coming up. That is why, having cherished all those memories, I believe it is time for me to bow out and pave the way for our talented young football players.

“I will always hold close to my heart the love shown to me by all the fans and my special thanks go to my family, Coach Bobby Williamson who handed me a debut, all the successive coaches thereafter with whom we created memories together through thick and thin and of course the leadership at the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).”

Okwi has 95 caps for Uganda Cranes since making his debut in 2009. He scored 28 goals in that period, 22 of which came in competitive games.

He featured at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, netting two goals in the matches against DR Congo and Zimbabwe.

He last featured for the team in 2023 during the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

He currently plays his club football at Rwandan side Kiyovu SC. He has in the past played for SC Villa, Simba SC, Young Africans, Etoile du Sahel, SonderjyskE, Al Ittihad, Al Zawra’a and Erbil SC.

Uganda Cup | Results

Police FC eliminated Maroons FC from the ongoing FUFA Uganda Cup after securing a narrow 1-0 victory at Prison Grounds, Luzira.

The match started at a high tempo, with both teams eager to take control.

Police struck early when Denis Kalanzi capitalized on a defensive lapse in the ninth minute, slotting home a rebound after Maroons failed to clear their lines.

Despite going behind, Maroons responded with relentless pressure, keeping Police on the back foot.

Ivan Asaba and Rogers Kiwanuka orchestrated several attacks, but the resolute defence of Adewale Bojo and Daniel Jakony kept them at bay.

Police head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa expressed his delight with the performance and praised his team’s defensive solidity.

“We are happy to win the game in the manner we did. The boys played well, and I congratulate them on the victory,” Mugerwa said.

“Keeping a clean sheet is a big positive for us, and we hope to carry this momentum into the league as we prepare for upcoming matches,” he added.

Defender Elio Capradossi has officially joined the Uganda Cranes training camp in Cairo, Egypt, ahead of their FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mozambique.

The home-based squad departed for Egypt in the early hours of Saturday, while foreign-based players continue to arrive.

Capradossi’s inclusion strengthens the team’s defensive options as they prepare for the crucial match.

Notably, the defender was not part of the initial 26-man squad named by head coach Paul Put on Monday, March 10, 2025.

He will now compete with Bevis Mugabi, Timothy Awany, and Rogers Torach for a spot in the starting lineup.

Uganda currently sits fifth in Group G with six points, level with Guinea and Botswana, as they aim to improve their standing in the qualifiers.

Kawempe Muslim Secondary School claimed the boys’ and girls’ titles in the Buganda Schools Sports Competition.

In the boys’ category, Kawempe played to a one-all draw with Buddo SS, which sent the game into a penalty shootout.

Ryan Ssekitoleko gave Kawempe the lead before Ronald Ssegirinya levelled matters as the only two goals in the game.

Kawempe were perfect on the 12-yard mark winning the penalty shootout 5-3 before lifting the title.

In the girls category, Kawempe Muslim secured a 1-0 victory against Uganda Martyrs thanks to Dorcus Kisakye’s late strike.

FUFA Big League | Results

Buhimba United secured a 2-1 victory against Kataka in the FUFA Big League encounter on Sunday evening.

Buhimba United fought from a goal down to secure maximum points on the day.

Micheal Olinga fired Kataka ahead in the 40th minute to slice the home crowd on the day.

A minute later, John Wesley Kisakye levelled matters as Buhimba United quickly restored parity.

Lucas Mola finally gave Buhimba in the 76th minute. The hosts held on to claim maximum points.

The victory takes Buhimba to the log lead with 35 points, four ahead of Blacks Power while Kataka remains 6th with 24 points.

U17 World Cup Qualifiers | Result

Uganda’s journey in the U17 World Cup Qualifiers was brought to an end by Kenya after a 3-0 victory at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday.

Patience Asiko gave Kenya an early lead in the fifth minute thus setting a great tone for the hosts.

Despite Uganda’s fight, the first half ended with Kenya holding onto the 1-0 lead.

Brenda Achiend doubled Kenya’s lead in the 85th minute before sealing the win in added time with a brilliant solo run.

Kenya earlier won the first leg 2-0 in a game that was played at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

Kenya will take on Cameroon in the next round of the ongoing qualifiers.

FUFA Women’s Cup | Results

Kampala Queens secured a 4-1 victory against Jinja City Queens in the round of 16 FUFA Women’s Cup on Saturday.

The games started at a low pace and went into the long break without any club getting onto the score sheet.

However, the Queens of Soccer started on a high in the second half as the hosts were still getting in the right shape.

Zainah Nandede broke the deadlock in the 45th minute to place the visitors in the driving seat.

Peace Muduwa extended Kampala Queens’ advantage in the 51st minute before Nandede completed the day’s brace nine minutes later.

The hosts pulled back one through Mary Lakisa in the 75th minute before Kamiyati Naigaga put the icing on the cake for Kampala Queens.
