BUL FC edge Busoga United 1-0 in the Uganda Premier League game played at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Thursday evening.

The victory ensured that they created a six-point gap at top of the log ahead of Kitara who are second with 26 points.

Alex Kitata failed to node home a free header in the fourth minute after connecting well with Ibrahim Mugulusi’s we’ll curled corner kick.

Six minutes later, Nicholas Mwere’s long-range effort rattled off the crossbar as the hosts kept knocking in search of an opener.

Kitata finally drew first blood in the Jinja Derby after 30 minutes. The forward jumped highest to direct Mugulusi’s corner into the back of the net as Busoga United’s backline looked on.

Four minutes into the second stanza, Busoga crafted some neat passes in BUL’s box area but Moses Logono’s final effort went wide of the frame narrowly.

The city of Masindi will be buzzing as Kitara FC host Arua Hill in the Uganda Premier League on Matchday 13 of the ongoing campaign.

The Royals come into the game with 23 points and a victory will take them two points above second-placed Vipers SC.

On the other hand, Arua Hill SC will be seeking its second victory of the campaign as it seeks to put an end to a sorrowful run.

However, Kitara head coach Brian Ssenondo detects that the game will be tough since Arua Hill is fighting to turn around its sorrowful state.

“It will be a tough encounter since we play against a side that is fighting for survival,” he said.

“They will do all it takes to collect some points before the first round is concluded so that they improve on their chances of staying in the top tier,” he added.

“We shall try to put out what we can so that we handle the challenge well. We have to win because these are the games we need to take away.”

“I know the boys will put in the needed performance to secure a victory. We have tried to prepare the team and am positive going into the clash.”

“It is not just a concern of the defensive line, but an assignment of the entire team. We are concerned and will do all it takes to rectify.”

The two sides have previously met 12 times in the UPL. KCCA has picked up to eight victories from the fixture while UPDF has won one, they have shared spoils on three occasions.
