Uganda Premier League | Results
Nine-man BUL held Express Football Club in a 1-1 draw in the Uganda Premier League game played at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Tuesday.
Nicholas Mwerere gave BUL FC the lead before Isaac Wagoina levelled matters in the heated game.
Benon Tahomera and Walter Ochora were both sent off as BUL finished the game two men less.
The game kicked off 30 minutes late after the heavens opened earlier making the playing pitch soggy and unplayable.
The game began slowly as none of the two sides took early control of the game since the possession was equally shared in the middle park.
Nicholas Mweere’s direct powerful free-kick gave the visitors the lead in the 17th minute as the hosts went silent.
Before the end of the first stanza, Mweere fouled Emmanuel Wasswa in the dangerous area and referee Asadu Semere pointed at the spot.
Wagoina stepped up and converted from the spot to restore parity for the hosts.
The game got heated up in the second half as lanky referee Semere sent off two BUL players.
Tahomera was sent off after punching an Express player three minutes after the hour mark.
Eight minutes later, Ochora was also given the second yellow card after shirt-tagging Marvin Oshaba who was starting a counterattack.
BUL’s bench fiercely responded in opposition to the decision. Semere showed BUL assistant Simeon Masaba a red card for over-protesting.
Express failed to take advantage of having more bodies on the playground and the score kept 1-1 at full-time.
BUL are still on top of the log with 25 points while Express FC are seventh with 13 points after playing 10 games.
Uganda Premier League | Fixtures
Bright Stars are set to lock horns with SC Villa in the Uganda Premier League at Kavumba Recreational Grounds, Wakiso on Tuesday, December 5.
Both sides come into the fixture having won their previous games convincingly. Bright Stars beat 10-man Arua Hill SC 3-1 while SC Villa easily went past Busoga United in a 2-0 victory.
Bright Stars had a slow start to the season going six games without a victory. Among those they suffered three defeats and managed three draws.
On the other hand, SC Villa have had an inconsistent run of results. In the eight games played so far, they have registered three wins, managed three draws and suffered two defeats.
SC Villa’s backline will need to be alert to ensure that Nelson Senkatuka is kept at bay. The forward had managed to score a total of seven goals in the last seven games played.
Though Villa’s fans will not worry much since their backline has been fair, conceding seven goals thus far.
Umar Lutalo and Patrick Kakande have been on hot form pulling the strings in the midfield and also keeping the opponents’ defenders pegged on the back feet.
In the last 20 meetings between the two sides, Villa has won 11 while Bright Stars has come out victorious thrice sharing spoils on six occasions.
Uganda Premier League | Fixtures
Arua Hill host Wakiso Giants at Paridi Stadium, Adjumani in a fight of wounded buffaloes on Matchday 10 of the Uganda Premier League.
The two sides come into the game seeking to get out of the red zone after a poor start to the ongoing season.
The Kongolo are glued in the 16th positions on the log with four points while the Purple Sharks are 15th with only six points. Each side has won once in their previous nine games played.
The fixture provides a chance for both teams to increase their tally in search for glory and hope in what seems to be a tough campaign sofar.
Arua Hill suffered a big blow after Yusuf Makhtum was shown a red card in the game they lost 3-1 to Bright Stars and will miss the game against the Purple Sharks while on the other hand, Titus Ssematimba will miss the game due to accumulation of cards while Paul Willa and Lawrence Bukenya are injured.
The two teams have sofar played four fixtures, among those Arua Hill SC have won thrice and the other game ended a 1-1 draw.
Wakiso Giants will be on search for their first win against the Kongolo in the league but their previous form leaves less hope to take home.

Uganda Premier League returns and Matchday 10 will be getting underway on Tuesday, December 5 with three games on the day.
The fixture between Express FC and BUL is set to highlight the day since the Red Eagles will be on task to stop the thrilling form of the log leaders.
Express FC head coach James Odoch is demands a reaction from his troops after going four games without a win and also losing two of their most recent outings.
Odoch admitted that it has not been the best run for the team but also revealed that they have spared time to go through their past games and put right some of the challenges witnessed.
“We are done preparing. We have been trying to rectify our earlier mistakes ahead of our game,” he said.
“I believe we have changes some things and hope to win our game against BUL because we shall be playing at home,” he added.
“The boys are committed and ready to put up the required fight. BUL is a good team and they are having a good run but am glad to say we have an exciting record against them.
“It has been long since they last got a win against us. So we want to do all it takes to maintain the record against them,” he concluded.
BUL FC head coach Abbey Kikomeko noted that he expects a tough challenge from Express due to the poor run they have registered.
“They lost their game against URA. I know it will be a tough game because we are going to find them wounded but the boys are ready to fight,” he said.
“Being that Express is at home they have the advantage but we are ready to give out all it takes so that we register maximum points,” he added.

Lawrence Tezikya returns from injury to boast the team and provide more options upfront. Ibrahim Kazindula is not available for selection after being shown a red card in the previous game while to Pascal Ngobi and Joel Madondo are still in sickbay.
Uganda Premier League | Sunday Results
Vipers secured a hard fought 1-0 victory against UPDF in the Uganda Premier League at Bombo Barracks Grounds in Luwero in Sunday.
The Venoms were lucky having gotten the lead early because as the game grew, the pitch became unplayable after the opening of the heavens.
Yunus Sentamu nearly placed Vipers in the driving seat in the 5th minute after being set up by Bright Anukani but his curled effort went narrowly above the frame.
Livingstone Mulondo nodded home five minutes later after a mix up in the hosts’ box. UPDF’s backline failed to clear Anukani’s corner kick and Mulondo was in the right place to slot home.
Eric Kambale nearly doubled the visitors’ lead but his powerful header off Anukani’s cross narrowly went wide in the 19th minute.
Six minutes later Milton Karisa placed the ball in the back of the net but the goal was cancelled having cited a foul in the build up to the goal.
The game was suspended at half an hour mark due to heavy rains and resumed after 18 minutes.
At half time it was 1-0 in favour of the visitors. The hosts were given an assignment to chase the score in search of parity.
Eight minutes into the second stanza, Abdu Lumala set up Sentamu but UPDF FC goalkeeper Simon Mabuya pulled off a stunning save.
Aggrey Kiirya was given the second yellow thus sending him off the playing ground and UPDF reduced by a man remaining 10 on the battlefield.
After the victory, Vipers moved to the second position on the log with 20 points while UPDF are 13th with eight points after playing nine games.
Next on the menu, Vipers will host Kitara while UPDF will visit Gaddafi on Thursday, December 7, 2023.
CECAFA U18 Boys Championship | Results
Uganda registered a well-deserved 2-0 victory against South Sudan in the CECAFA U18 Boys Championship at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium on Saturday.
Dennis Kisiriko and Richard Okello scored as Uganda secured the maximum points to get the much-required victory to top Group B in the ongoing tournament.
The game was so tight as the two sides failed to find the back of the net in the first half of the game.
In the second half, Uganda returned stronger making quick transitions and also making sure they win all the 50-50 duels.
Okello out-muscled South Sudan defender Riak Mulal before he set up Abasi Kyeyune but the forward put to waste a glorious chance.
A minute later, Okello finally broke the deadlock with a touch into the back of the net to finish a quick poetry move leaving South Sudan’s backline frozen.
James Ezekiel Ismail’s troops tried to level matters throwing bodies upfront but Uganda’s backline was up to the task.
Coming off the bench, Kisiriko volleyed home the first-time strike to double Uganda’s lead in stellar fashion with six minutes to play.
At the semifinal stage, Uganda will play Rwanda to decide who takes the ticket to go into the final.

Jude Ssemugabi scored a stunner as Kitara edged NEC FC 1-0 in the Uganda Premier League at Masindi Stadium on Saturday.
The victory returned Kitara to winning ways after three games without collecting maximum points.
Kitara dominated the game creating several chances upfront but were not clinical enough to take them away.
Solomon Okwalinga had a chance to place the hosts in the driving seat but NEC FC goalkeeper Samson Kiirya denied the midfielder halfway through the first stanza.
Ten minutes later, Kirya yet again made a stunning save denying lethal forward Denis Omendi who was left with only a goalkeeper to beat.
In the final minutes of the game, Enock Ssebagala’s effort rattled off the frame as the visitors came close to levelling matters.
The victory lifted Kitara FC into the second position on the log with 19 points while NEC FC are fifth with 16 points.
Next on the menu, Kitara will play away to Vipers SC on Thursday, December 7 while NEC FC will host URA at MTN Omondi Stadium on Wednesday.

URA FC secured the first victory under head coach David Obua against Express FC in the ongoing Uganda Premier League campaign.
URA FC edged Express 2-1 in a tight contest played at Metha Stadium in Lugazi on Friday evening.
It was an entertaining game that witnessed two sides patiently building plays from the back.
Laban Tibita thought he had opened the scoring early in the fifth minute but the assistant referee judged the forward to have been offside.
Ten minutes later, Ibrahim Wamanah found himself in a good place in the box but his low drive was blocked by Express defender Arthur Kiggundu.
Isaac Wagoina finally broke the deadlock in the 27th minute after Denis Otim failed to clear the ball away from his lines.
At the end of the first half, Vianne Sekajugo had a great chance to level matters but headed wide Moses Aliro’s delivery.
Ten minutes into the second stanza, Martin Senkoto denied Wammana who launched a powerful effort from a distance.
In the 70th minute, Senkoto tripped Joseph Semujju in the dangerous area and the referee awarded the hosts a penalty.
Aliro stepped up to the occasion and guided the ball into the back of the net from the 12-yard mark.
The goal restored parity and breathed life into the Tax Collectors who looked a better side from that point.
Tibita finally gave the hosts the lead in the 84th minute. The forward was in the perfect place to volley the ball into the net after Express’ loose clearance.
The victory lifts URA to sixth place on the log with 13 points while Express FC are eighth with just a point less.
Next on the menu, URA will be away from home to NEC FC at MTN Omondi Stadium on Wednesday, December 6 while Express will host log leaders BUL on Tuesday.

KCCA FC registered a 6-1 victory against Gaddafi in the Uganda Premier League at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Friday.
It was a thrilling encounter under the floodlights as Abdallah Mubiru’s first game at home ended in a jovial mood.
Pacy forward Ettiene Katenga broke the deadlock in the 17th minute with a well-curled effort after a solo run right from the centre line.
Muhammad Shaban doubled the hosts’ lead in the 22nd minute with a powerful diving header off Mustafa Kizza’s whooping cross from the left flank.
A minute later, Shaban extended the hosts’ lead to three after he calmly cooled Cungulo Gui’s before he slotted it into the back of the net to light up Lugogo.
KCCA continued with their dominance as Usama volleyed the fourth into the net capitalising on the mismatch in Gaddafi’s backline.
Five minutes to the end of the first stanza, Usama’s overhead kick went off Douglas Bithum’s chest before it found the corner of the net to seal off a perfect first half.
KCCA returned into the second half looking relaxed and less ambitious since the job had been earlier done.
In the 62nd minute, Sharifu Ssengendo scored a beauty after sending Peter Magambo to the grass before the midfielder launched a powerful effort from distance.
Dominic Ayella hit the last nail in Gaddafi’s coffin to seal the emphatic show by the Kasasiro Boys on the day.
The victory takes KCCA to the 14th position on the log with seven points while Gaddafi is 10th with 10 points.
The Kasasiro Boys return to action on Wednesday, December 6 as they visit Mbarara City while Gaddafi hosts UPDF a day later.

BUL FC continued with their brilliant form after securing a well-deserved 3-0 victory against Wakiso Giants in the Uganda Premier League on Friday.
Martin Aprem (brace) and Alex Kitata scored as BUL secured the eighth victory of the season in nine games played.
It was a shared possession between the two sides in the opening 15 minutes as no side took full control of the game.
Shafick Nana Kwikiriza came close to opening the scoring after a solo run through a forest of bodies but his end product went narrowly wide.
Jerome Kirya’s long-range effort was blocked for a corner kick to deny the midfielder’s great anticipation.
At the end of the first 45 minutes, it was goalless and both sides took the search for the opener into the second half.
Two minutes into the second stanza, Aprem guided the ball into the back of the net after beating Wakiso Giants custodian Bashir Sekagya.
After a minute, Kitata continued his great scoring form after doubling the visitors’ lead to add salt to the hosts’ wounds.
Aprem made it 3-0 in the 80th minute to put the icing sugar on the cake served away from home.
The victory cements BUL’s place on the top of the log with 24 points while Express are eighth with 12 points.
BUL return to action on Tuesday, December 5 against Express while Wakiso Giants will be on the road to take on Arua Hill SC.
