Kitara will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Uganda Premier League encounter against Police at Royal Park, Hoima, on Thursday.

Kitara, who are addressed as title contenders, have started the league on a slow note, winning once and losing twice.

Kitara head coach Brian Ssenyondo admitted that they have not been at their best in the previous games but motivated to turn around the tide.

” We come into this game off disappointing results, but we picked some lessons which we hope to carry into the next game and try to overturn the deficit we suffered against NEC,” Ssenyondo stated.

“Going forward, we want to build on that and bounce back with a satisfying performance. We know our opponents will also come motivated, but we have been working on our defence and finishing and expect a better game this time round.”

“Also, the title chase is not over after these two losses. We are still working towards our target this season. We are making steady progress and believe our objectives are still attainable,” he promised.

Seri Arigumaho scored a brace as the Ankole Lions registered their maiden victory of the 2024-25 league campaign.

It’s not looking good for BUL who have now lost two games on a bounce after being held in two draws.

On-form forward, Arigumaho broke the deadlock in the 40th minute with a powerful shot that pierced the ball through a forest of legs.

Returning for the second half, Reagan Kalyowa and Ibrahim Mugulusi came on to replace Martin Aprem and George Kasonko.

Ten minutes into the second half, Mugulusi came close as his free bounced off the frame as Mbarara custodian Abdul Kimera stuck on his feet.

On top of the hour mark, Arigumaho doubled the visitors’ lead with a simple touch from close range after BUL failed to stop Mbarara’s counterattack.

In the 72nd minute, second-half substitute Yafesi Mubiru failed to make contact with a darling delivery from Mugulusi on the left flank.

The victory takes Mbarara City to the sixth position with five points while BUL is 15th with two points after four games.

Forward Sadat Happy Anaku has completed his move to Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC.

The pacy forward joins KCCA on a season-long deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Anaku returns to a club that he left in August 2022. At that moment, he joined the Scottish professional football side, Dundee United.

“I feel so happy to be back to KCCA FC where it all started. I am eager to compete with my mates to help the club achieve its objectives,” he stated.

“I love the fact that when I came back here, I found several familiar faces in the dressing room, and this place simply feels like home,” he added.

“I am thankful to the club board, management, and Head Coach for having granted me this opportunity to return to KCCA FC, and I can not wait to get started again.”

But his stay at Dundee was short-lived since he did not get enough playing time due to recurring injuries.

For the time he has spent at the MTN Omondi Stadium, he has scored 83 goals in 52 games for the junior side and 22 goals in 67 games for the senior side.
