David Bagoole ‘Tong Po’ has been unveiled by Vipers SC and becomes their second signing in the ongoing transfer window.
The highly skilful midfielder joins the Kitende-based club on a two-year contract after switching from FUFA Big League side Jinja North United FC.
“The affable David Bagoole has finally completed his return to Vipers Sports Club,” the club confirmed via its official website.
“The immensely talented midfielder who is a fans’ favourite, has penned a two-year employment contract,” the post added.
The ‘prodigal son’ makes an emotional return to Vipers after leaving earlier than his contract read by then.
In August 2020, the midfielder penned a three-year contract but he only spent two years at St Mary’s Stadium before forcing his way out.
However, Bagoole revealed that he has learnt his lessons which clearly affirms the Vipers faithful that he has come to stay this time round.
“I have learnt my lessons. I will do everything I can to help the club achieve its goals,” he was quoted by Vipers website.
“I’m happy and excited to come back at Vipers SC,” he underlined.
The midfielder becomes Vipers’ second signing after Brazilian forward Giancarlo Rodriguez.
A brief about Bagoole
Goodbye is always a sad phrase to say but so inevitable in sports where athletes are always on the move to take up new beginnings.
Reports indicate that midfielder David Bagoole is on his way to Vipers SC after a short spell at Big League side, Jinja North United.
Bagoole took his mixed emotions on paper as he underlined that Jinja North United will always be his family.
“I start a new chapter but Jinja North will always be family,” Bagoole noted through a document posted on his social media handles.
“I say goodbye to you with a warm heart. It’s been an amazing six months at the club and I leave with great memories full of love and support from the whole team,” he added.
“To the fans, thank you for the unending support through thick and thin and I beseech you to keep rallying behind the team.”
In the document, Bagoole praised the club president for having belief in him hence giving him a chance to play in his team.
Bagoole is expected at Kitende today as he joins his teammates to kickstart the pre-season preparations ahead of a busy campaign.
As they wait on the return of the Uganda Premier League, the Venoms will be taking part in the CAF Champions League qualifiers that are set to get underway in August.
It’s no secret anymore that midfielder David Bagoole will be making a return to Vipers ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
Bagoole left Vipers at the end of the 2021-22 after a tough time that saw him go AWOL.
However MTN Sports understands, the midfielder has put a pen on paper to commit to his stay at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende for the next two years.
According to a source close to the player, Bagoole was clear to his agent letting him know that it’s only Vipers that he wanted to play for next season.
“After a fair campaign with Jinja North, Bagoole attracted a number of teams across the region but the player wanted Vipers more,” a source said.
“Bagoole’s camp nearly sealed deals with Sofapaka of Kenya and BUL but the priority was given to his former side. He believes there is unfinished business to handle,” the source continued.
“The deal to Sofapaka had more money but that did not change Bagoole’s mind because he was so sure about what he wanted hence sealing the shocking move.”
Last season, Vipers SC won a double lifting both the league title and the Uganda Cup so it will be seeking for a slot in the CAF Champions League groups on a bounce.
