St Mary’s College Kisubi easily went past Kings College Budo in a one-sided affair that was fully controlled by the hosts.
SMACK picked a well-deserved 2-0 win against Kings College in the second game of Group A of the FUFA TV Cup at Kisubi grounds on Sunday evening.
The home side had several chances but was not lethal enough to bury more than the only two goals scored.
They managed to score a goal in either half of the game thanks to Mahad Mubiru and Griffin Mwesigwa’s strikes respectively.
The skipper Mubiru swiftly tapped home to give Kisubi the lead and sent the crowds on their feet in jubilation.
Five minutes after the break Mwesigwa doubled the hosts’ lead with a calm finish to create a wider edge.
In the 61st minute, Benjamin Mukisa went through a forest of bodies before he released a powerful shot but it sailed just inches wide of the frame.
Thirteen minutes later, Budo’s custodian Woodrow Were’s custodian fumbled with Mubiru’s low effort but Arsene Nababwe’s rebound went above the crossbar.
At the end of the duel, Kisubi bagged three points to go second on the Group A log behind Makerere College School.

Elvis Kigongo’s goal was the difference as Jinja College picked maximum points on the road as they started their hunt for the FUFA TV Cup.
Jinja College registered a narrow 1-0 victory against a wasteful Busoga College in the FUFA TV Cup duel played at Mwiri grounds on Sunday morning.
Busoga College was the better side throughout the game and received the utmost needed support from the home crowd but was so wasteful in front of the goal.
Both Nasser Kagoda and Bolton Dhikusooka had a chance to put the home side ahead in the opening minutes but their efforts went wide of either goalposts.
On the other side, Jinja College converted their half and first chance in the first stanza hence taking the lead through Kigongo.
Keith Okore delivered a darling ball into the area that was tapped home in an awkward manner before Busoga College’s custodian Mathias Bakoole got in contact with it in the 44th minute.
Busoga College nearly responded through a swift attack but Shafiq Nabangi’s effort rattled off the frame with only a keeper to beat.
JICO is now level at the helm of Group B with Kiira College Butiki that as well picked a victory against Namilyango yesterday.

Saturday, June 10 | FUFA Tv Cup
Ernest Olukor scored at the death of the duel as Kiira College Butiki fought from down to bag maximum points in their opening game of the inaugural FUFA TV Cup.
Kiira College registered a sweet 2-1 victory against Namilyango College in the opening game of group B in the ongoing championship.
It was an entertaining game that was only slowed by the quality of the playground which was soggy and muddy after a morning heavy downpour.
But that would not stop the two schools to tussle over it before Kiira College made the first bite of the meat.
Namilyango were awarded a penalty after forward Mark Kevin Nsimbi was tripped in the box by goalkeeper Kenneth Mutabazi.
In the 17th minute, defender Mathias Erima stepped up on the occasion and placed the ball far from the goalkeeper but into the back of the net.
Kiira College Butiki nearly responded on time through skipper Lyada Muhammad but his powerful shot went wide of the right goalpost.
Ten minutes into the second stanza, Olukor restored parity to restore the hope of the crowds that had gone mute since their side had gone down earlier.
Thereafter, Kiira College was ignited and threw all bodies upfront searching for a lead and a perfect start to the tournament.
As many had concluded that it was spoils to be shared, Olukor had a different idea as he found the back of the net in stoppage time and ensure the bragging rights go to the home side.
Sunday, June 11 | Fixture

It was a great start for Mengo SS who had to fight from a goal down to see that they take home maximum points after falling to the hosts early.
Makerere College lit up right away seeking an opener as the home crowd rallied behind them with chants and vuvuzelas.
In the ninth minute, quick-footed forward Brian Mukulu broke the deadlock guiding the ball into the back of the net.

In the 26th minute, Mengo restored parity through Ambrose Adea beating custodian Balaam Ogola who had just come on the pitch to replace injured Calvin Ssemuyaba.
Nine minutes later, Mengo took the lead through Ukasha Ssentamu after being set up in style by John Senfuma.
With four minutes to end the first stanza, Senfuma was in the right place to tap home a corner after Makerere College failed to clear its lines.

Two minutes to the hour mark, Senfuma completed a double with another tap in after Makerere looked shaky and unstable at the backline.
In the second half, Makerere had a better show taking the ball to the opponent but could not go past Mengo’s defence line.
The opening match was graced by the FUFA president, Eng Moses Magogo together with tournament chairperson Dr. Apollo Ahimbisibwe.
