Uganda Premier League side, URA FC has finally announced the signing of Laban Tibita.

The pint-sized midfielder was rumoured to have completed the deal way back but finally, it’s now official.

Tibita has been awarded a two-year employment contract that will tie him to the club until at least 2025.

In his maiden interview with the URA FC media team, he expressed his willingness to serve.

“I am happy to be here and I am ready to serve,” Laban was quoted by the club’s official website before adding; “I want my time here to count and I want to help the club win trophies.”

“URA FC is a big club and totally different from my previous club but am equally ready for the competition.”

Tibita joins URA switching from his boyhood club Busoga United. He has also played for the Maroons and Tooro United in the top tier.

He was so crucial in helping the club survive relegation in the just-concluded Uganda Premier League campaign.

He scored seven goals, assisted on four occasions, and carried home the Man of the Match plaques five times.

He becomes the 12th signing in the ongoing transfer window. URA will kick start the campaign against Bright Stars in the FUFA Super 8 in the curtain-raising tournament before real business gets under way.
