The official sponsors of Uganda Cranes, MTN Uganda made a financial pledge to the team if at all they win the game against Algeria in the Africa Cup of Nation Qualifiers.

At an event held at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, Chief Marketing Officer Sen Somdev revealed a Ush 30 million offer for a win against Algeria.

Uganda Cranes are set to play Algeria in their second last qualifier duel that will be played on Sunday June 18, 2023 in Douala, Cameroon.

“Ahead of the game against Algeria, we promise a package of 30M for a win,” Somdev reavealed.

“This is to help give motivation to our players and make sure they bring joy to us,” he added.

“We know that football is the biggest sport in the world and equally in Uganda, football is loved. It is the reason why MTN returned to sponsor the Uganda Cranes and together, we shall make this country proud.”

Sen underlined that MTN is committed towards reclaiming Ugandans’ joy and that can be achieved through the football national team.

Uganda is third in Group F with four points level with Tanzania, eight points behind log Algeria who are at 12.

The squad will travel out of the country to Cameroon on Friday morning (2:45am).
