URA FC is back in the market and have unveiled stricker Ivan Ahimbisibwe.
The goal-hunter joins the Tax Collectors from the Bombo-based side, UPDF FC.
The announcement was posted on the club’s official website on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
Ahimbisibwe has been awarded a two-year employment contract that will keep him at the club until 2025.
“URA FC is delighted to announce that Ivan Ahimbisibwe has completed his move to the club,” the statement partly read.
“His goal-scoring abilities will without a doubt be a great impact to the Tax Collectors as we attempt to win Silverware in the upcoming 2023-24 season,” it added.
Ahimbisibwe’s journey
He kickstarted his career at Synergy FC in 2015 and spent there three years.
He later moved to Nyamityobora FC in 2019 where he scored 15 goals in his maiden season.
The forward attracted UPDF’s management thus securing his signature in 2021 where he has been to date.
He lands at the right time when URA FC has an assignment where they are set to play against KCCA FC in the FUFA 8 semifinals.
Crested Cranes forward Ashiat Naluggwa has completed a transfer move to Lindsey Wilson College in the USA.
Naluggwa joins the USA side from FUFA Super Women League side Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady Cardinals.
The announcement was made via the UCU Lady Cardinals social handles on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
“A special farewell to Ashiat Naluggwa who has joined Lindsey Wilson College,” the statement partly read.
“Thank you for everything during your time with the Lady Cardinals and best of luck for your next chapter, Ashiat,” it concluded.
Naluggwa has been a student at Uganda Christian University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance.
Last season she was third on the list of the league’s top scorers with 10 goals.
At Lindsey Wilson College, she will join her former teammate Sharon Nadunga who has spent two weeks at the College.
Alpha Thiery Ssali looks forward to growing and developing into the footballer of his dreams after joining Uganda Premier League side Express FC.
Ssali was awarded a two-year employment contract that will see him play for the oldest club in the country at least until 2025.
While speaking to the press at the lavish Skyz Hotel, Ssali expressed his love for the sport and urge to develop further.
“This is a development process like many young footballers who yearn for greater deals in life,” Ssali confidently said.
“I am happy to join Express FC. This is a huge club that will help me prove myself as I eye for greater opportunities in life,” he added.

James Odoch, Express’s head coach revealed that he looked for the player and convinced him to join the Wankulukuku-based side.
“I approached Alpha and I had to speak to the father (Bebe Cool) before the deal was finalized. He is a young talented player with the potential to improve,” Odoch told the press.
“We shall not put him under pressure and will see which matches to field him. He will need guidance here and there. I have watched him at Proline and witnessed his growth curve,” the gaffer added.
Express FC is yet to announce the acquisition of Emmanuel Wasswa, Andrew Kawooya, and Seif Batte.
Uganda Premier League URA FC have finally unveiled Moses Aliro as their fifth signing of the ongoing transfer season.
Aliro joins Denis Kisiriko Luzige, John Kisolo Innocent, Amis Bwagani and Godfrey Sekibengo as the latest addition to the Tax Collectors’ camp.
The development was brought to the public via the club’s official website on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
“It’s official, Moses Aliro Okabo is the latest Tax Collector in the house,” the statement partly read.
“The versatile player joins the club as a free agent from Wakiso Giants FC on a two-year employment contract,” it added.
Speaking to URA FC media, Aliro revealed that he hopes they win and achieve many positives together.
“I believe we can together achieve. Personally, I want to help the club win the league and score goals,” he said.
“I want to help the club achieve a lot. I thank the management of the club for the trust they have put in me and I can only pay them back with good performance.”
Aliro’s presence will extend a high level of versatility to the squad since he is capable of playing in the midfield, upfront as well as in the backline.
Former Vipers SC midfielder Garcia Mpongo Mbombo has joined Rwanda’s Kiyovu FC.
Mpogo was previously released by Vipers SC and the midfielder has finally found solace at Kiyovu FC in the Rwanda Premier League.
He was limited to only five league games due to competition before he was shown the exit door from St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
While at Vipers, he lifted the Uganda Premier League title together with the prestigious Uganda Cup.
Kiyovu earlier signed two Ugandans; former Gaddafi forward Brian Kalumba and goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa.
Last season, Kiyovu finished second with 63 points behind the army side, APR due to goal difference.
Mpongo has previously played for Breme RCK, Etoile du Congo, Desportivo de Huila, Porcelena FC, Progresso Da Luanda before he joined the Venoms.
Vipers SC continue to prepare ahead of the highly anticipated 2023/24 campaign where they will be vying for a slot on the continental stage.
As they look to strengthen their squad, Allan Okello has greatly been discussed and reports indicate the two camps are holding talks to see that they sort personal talks.
Last season, Okello played for his former side KCCA FC on a loan contract from his mother club AC Paradou.
The Algerian-based club availed the attacking midfielder to the Kasasiro Boys but hardly agreed to the deal crying foul that Okello’s set price tag was so high.
It’s reported that Vipers SC is ready to pay the set price and add Allan Okello into their arsenal so as to improve their squad to meet the required standards.
The Vipers’ camp is still worried about how bad Allan Okello’s nagging knee is but they will assess it and see how to move on with the deal as soon as possible.
The football faithful still wait to see, if Okello’s loyalty will hold him back from crossing to the rivals of his boyhood club, it’s only time that will bring it all to light.
Vipers have already signed Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez, Richard Matovu, David Bagoole and Luiz Otavio Santos de Araujo.
Goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga has joined Rwandan side Etoile de L’est FC.
Etoile de L’est FC is a newly promoted side to the top-tier football league of Rwanda.
Muwanga had earlier agreed terms with SC Villa but Etoile de L’est’s hefty deal lured the custodian.
The former Onduparaka FC custodian joined the side after signing a one-year-employment contract as a free agent.
“Etoile de L’est confirm the signing of Onduparaka goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga from Uganda,” a statement from the club read.
Muwanga has been named the Goalkeeper of the Year award twice in the Uganda Premier League (UPL) in 2016 and 2021 for Sadolin Paints and Express respectively.
He joins the long list of Ugandan players who have switched to the Rwandan Premier League.
Newly promoted Uganda Premier League side Kitara FC has completed the signing of goalkeeper Chrispus Kusiima as their second signing.
The custodian will ply his trade with Kitara FC until 2025 after signing a two-year employment contract.
Kusiima joins the Hoima-based side after running down his one-year contract at Gaddafi FC.
The former Express goalkeeper will become a replacement for Micheal Kagiri who chose to depart the Royals after both sides failed to agree on a contract renewal.
In the goalkeeping department, Kusiima will compete with Farouk Yawr and Jamil Kiyimba for a starting berth ahead of the upcoming season.
Kusima also played for Nyamityobora FC and Tooro United in the early days of his footballing career.
He becomes the second addition to the side that earlier announced Frank Tumwesigye in the ongoing transfer window.
Newly promoted Uganda Premier League side Kitara FC has announced Frank Tumwesigye aka Zaga as their first signing in the ongoing transfer window.
Tumwesigye joins Kitara FC after being released by Vipers SC, a place he struggled to command playing time.
The transfer was made public on Monday, July 10 via the club’s official website.
“Frank Tumwesigye is officially a Kitara FC player after agreeing to a year-long contract,” the statement partly read.
“The exciting midfielder will don the Royals colours until July 2024 and Hoima will be his new home town,” the statement added.
The transfer deal provides Zaga with yet another chance to prove to the football fraternity his worth after posting huge anticipation in his early days on the playground.
The midfielder welcomed the development of playing for Kitara since it’s based in Hoima which doubles to be his home town.
“This is a special place for me, Hoima is home and I already feel welcomed here,” Zaga was quoted by the website.
“I will give my best performance for sure and help my new team win games and also stay in the top flight,” he added.
Kitara recently gained promotion to the top flight in May this year.
Under the tutelage of Brian Ssenyodo, the club chairman has already set the target of finishing fifth in the upcoming UPL season.
Uganda Premier League side URA FC has finalised the acquisition of yet another youngster John Innocent Kisolo.
The talented midfielder put pen to paper on a three-year employment contract with the Tax Collectors.
The development was announced on Monday via the club’s official website.
“URA FC have completed the signing of teenage defensive midfielder Kisolo John Innocent on a three-year contract,” a statement partly read.
“Welcome to the Tax Collectors family Kisolo,” the statement added.
The 16-year-old midfielder joins URA FC from Masaka-based St. Henry’s College Kitovu.
While at Kitovu, he was the skipper and guided the school to its maiden final of the USSSA football championship that was held in Fort Portal.
For the 18 games played at Kitovu, he scored six goals and made eight assists.
Kisolo has previously played for KCCA Junior Team where he played thrice and scored once.
He becomes the second signing for URA FC after the unveiling of forward Kisiriko Denis Luzige.
