Uganda Premier League side KCCA Football Club has confirmed the signing of Bright Anukani in the ongoing transfer window.
Anukani completed the move back to the MTN Omondi Stadium after signing a three-year deal that keeps him at the club until the end of the 2026-27 season.
The development was confirmed via the club’s official website on Friday, July 12, 2024.
“Bright Anukani has returned to KCCA FC and has signed a three-year deal with KCCA FC until the end of the 2026-27 season,” the statement partly reads.
Anukani was quick to remind the public that he has unfinished business at KCCA FC.
“I am so happy to be back at KCCA FC. I have unfinished business here,” Anukani stated.
“I was here on a season-long loan, and the majority of the players I played with are still here. I want to win with this club and also help it achieve its objectives,” he added.
“I have a great bond with the coach, and he has already shared with me his plans ahead of the new season. I return a better player, mature, and experienced.”
Anukani will largely compete for a position with Steven Munguchi, Ashraf Mugume, and Saidi Mayanja in the attacking midfielder role.
Attacking midfielder Bright Anukani has confirmed that he will not be playing for Vipers in the upcoming season.
This puts an end to the three-year marriage of Anukani and the Uganda Premier League side Vipers SC.
The development was confirmed via his social media platforms, where he penned an emotional message.
“I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to play at this great club. Thank you, Vipers SC, to all the staff in every department, from the top management to the helpers, not forgetting the media, thank you for the love and support,” Anukani wrote down.
The talented midfielder joined the Kitende based side in the 2021-22 campaign as he switched from Proline FC.
He has won two Uganda Premier League titles and a Uganda Cup in the three years spent at the club.
Reports indicate that he is set to join KCCA FC a side he played for in the 2020/21 campaign under the reign of Mike Mutebi.

Ivan Asaba is one of Uganda’s young exciting talents and that was proven by how the forward guided Uganda Hippos to the U-20 AFCON Final in 2021.
The St Mary’s Kitende forward has since then met challenges in his growth that limited his time on the green and many Ugandans forgot about him.
However, Asaba is excited about his maiden Uganda Premier League season and hopes to revive his stalled career.
“I am excited because it’s going to be the first time to play in the Uganda Premier League,” he told NBS Sport.
“I expect to help my team finish in a better position than what it finished in the last season. I also want to help the team move forward, and not be relegated to the Big League,” he added.
Asaba still dreams of playing professional football and he believes joining Maroons can be a stepping stone to reach the promised land.
“I want to use the club (Maroons) as a stepping stone to going professional. My other targets are winning trophies here and helping the team to achieve its goals.”
