Mugolofa has put pen to paper on a two-year employment contract that will see him at the club until the 2026-27 season.

The development was confirmed via the club’s official website on Thursday, June 6, 2024.

“Mutwalibi Mugolofa has renewed his contract with KCCA FC until the end of the 2026-27 season,” the statement partly reads.

“I am happy to commit my future to KCCA FC. I have felt at home during my first six months at the club, and I didn’t think twice about my contract renewal,” he was quoted.

“I want to compete and become an important member of this club. When I joined the club, I set goals for myself, and part of those was to get back to my very best,” he added.

“The club has offered me an opportunity, and I want to continue competing with other good goalkeepers at the club. I am ready to go again.”

Uganda Premier League side URA Football Club boosted its technical wing with three new members.

Last month the Tax Collectors appointed Alex Isabirye as the head coach for the second time replacing David Obua.

Isabirye has boosted his technical bench with three names namely; Baker Ssenabulya Kasule, Crespo Asiku and Jamir Damba.

Kasule and Asiku join the Tax Collectors as the first and second assistant coaches while Damba is the new goalkeeping coach.

The appointment will give Isabirye and Kasule reunite having worked at Vipers and BUL previously. The duo always complement each other and also build winning teams.

As the trio joined the team, Robert Mukasa and Swaib Ssebagala were going through the back door.

Mukasa and Ssebagala served the club for two seasons under the leadership of Sam Timbe (RIP) and David Obua.

After the sacking of Obua, Mukasa was asked to become the club’s interim head coach until the season’s end.

URA concluded the season in the eighth position with 40 points.

Lugazi Football Club has earned its maiden slot in the Uganda Premier League after two years of building this team.

Lugazi FC reached the mark after securing a 2-0 victory against Kaaro Karungi in the FUFA Big League at Lugazi Stadium on Sunday.

Sam Ssemugugu and Ronald Ssempala were on target as Lugazi secured maximum points to seal promotion to the top football tier.

Coming into the game, Lugazi needed just a point to seal the desired dream of playing in the UPL but instead secured maximum points in style.

In the first ten minutes, Ssemugugu easily tapped in Moses Buga’s delivery to place Lugazi in the driving seat.

Shortly after the half-hour mark, Ssempala doubled the hosts’ lead after guiding home Alvin Birungi’s sweet through pass.

With a 2-0 lead into the break, the hosts had a comfortable lead thus sending the fans into a party mood.

The second half was slower as the hosts decided to defend their lead thus sealing the historic win in front of a good crowd.

After narrowly missing out on promotion last season, Lugazi kept on track of the dream thus sealing the dream after trying for two years.

Going into the top tier, Lugazi joins Police and Mbale Heroes while Busoga United, Gaddafi and Arua Hill are relegated to the FUFA Big League.

While BUL were on the verge of lifting the Uganda Premier League title, Busoga United and Gaddafi were relegated to the FUFA Big League.

Busoga United were promoted to the top tier after the 2015- 2016 campaign before they found their way back to the second tier after the recent season.

In the 2017/18 campaign, Busoga United finished fifth before they moved a position above in the 2019/20 season but from that point, things went south.

The club struggled with financial troubles and management constraints before they finally sealed their ticket to the Big League.

Emotionally, players Lawrence Tezikya, Jeromy Kirya and gaffer Abby Kikongo led BUL as they beat Busoga United to confirm their painful relegation.

In the same breath, Gaddafi was also relegated after two seasons in the top tier. After the recently concluded campaign, BUL remains the only team in Jinja.

Semakula was on target with a blockbuster netting the winning goal against URA in the 2-1 victory sending the Villa into the last league game on the log summit.

The skipper revealed that the players’ confidence has been boosted by the trust entrusted to them by the Serbian gaffer Dusan Stojanovic.

“The coach has been great for us as players. He trusted us and I am glad it has paid off. The last season was tough for us, but we needed to focus on this one. However we planned for every game and I think that is why we emerged as victors,” he said.

“When you join Villa, you must grasp the club’s significance and its history. Most importantly, you feel the pressure from the fans; they drive you and you sense their passion in each and every game.”

“His immediate challenge will be preparing the squad for the grand opening of the newly refurbished Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium where we last won our league title as home ground,” he added.

It will be the second time Isabirye serves the club. The gaffer managed the club in the 2010/11 season before clinching the Uganda Cup in 2012.

URA finished eighth in the 2023/23 Uganda Premier League season with 40 points in 29 games.
