Highlights: She represented Uganda at the 2019 World Athletics Championships, competing in women's 5000 metres. Chelangat set a Ugandan national record of  15:00.61 in the 5000 metres in Nijmegen on June 2019. Last year, Chelangat finished 9th in 5000m at the Kip Keino Classic that took place at the  Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi.
