Biography

Ismail Bin Abdul Rashid Watenga plays as a goalkeeper for Premier Soccer League side Golden Arrows and Uganda Cranes. Ismail Watenga started his senior club football career at Vipers in 2011 where he played until 2018 when he transfered to Ethiopian Coffee. He had a short stint at Kenya Premier League side Sofapaka in 2019 before heading to South Africa where he signed for Chippa United in 2020. He was then picked up by Mamelodi Sundowns in 2022 but loaned him to Marumo Gallants for that season. Last year (2023), Watenga was loaned to Golden Arrows. Watenga earned his senior Uganda Cranes debut at the 2014 African Nations Championship.
