Kataka Football Club remained on course for promotion to the Uganda Premier League after beating rivals MYDA, 2-0, on Sunday at Mbale Municipal Stadium.

The Mbale-based entity is the only unbeaten club in the 2021-22 FUFA Big League after seven matchdays of the second tier division.

Joel Baba Onziku and Markus Aka were on target in either half of the match.

Kataka now has 14 points, two clear of second placed Maroons who edged Kyetume 3-2 at the lakeside Prisons Stadium in Luzira.

Fred Amaku scored twice for Maroons and Abraham Tusubira added the other for the prison warders. Ezra Bida and Felix Okot were on target for Kyetume.

In the other fixtures, Ndejje University ascended to fourth on the log with 8 points following a two-all draw with Nyamityobora at the Arena of Visions. Jimmy Nsaale Wasswa and Joseph Okello scored for Ndejje while the league top scorer Clinton Kamugisha grabbed a brace to take his season tally to 6.

Luwero United beat Kitara 2-0 at Kosovo Playground while Proline suffered a 2-1 defeat to Calvary at the Greenlight Stadium.
