Wakiso Giants edged Bul Football Club 4-3 in a thrilling Premier League game played at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso.

A double from Moses Aliro coupled with a penalty each from Ivan Bogere and Tom Masiko ensured that the Purple Sharks won the seven-goal thriller.

Ibrahim Kazindula (brace) and Ibrahim Nsimbe scored for the Jinja-based side.

It was the visitors who scored first in the 17th minute through Kazindula, whose free-kick went straight into the back of the net.

The hosts responded quickly as they launched various attacks. Moses Aliro shot wide just in front of goal before Saidi Keni denied midfielder Lawrence Bukenya.

Aliro levelled matters for his side in the 37th minute and five minutes later, Wakiso Giants were awarded a penalty after Ivan Bogere was fouled in the forbidden area by Keni. Bogere took responsibility and scored to put his side ahead before the interval.

The Purple Sharks started the second half the better side but it was Bul that levelled matters through Nsimbe four minutes after the hour mark.

Bul regained their lead through a Kazindula penalty in the 75th minute after Reagan Kalyowa was fouled in the area.

However, the lead didn’t last long as Aliro levelled matters again five minutes later before substitute Masiko made it four from the spot five minutes from time and turned out the winner.

Wakiso Giants moved to 24 points but remained in the sixth position after 14 games played while Bul who suffered their third defeat of the season dropped to the fourth position with Express climbing to third following their 2-0 win against Tooro United at Buhinga.

Next Up

Wakiso Giants will be away to Gaddafi on Friday, 7th January while Bul will make a trip to Kitende to face Vipers the following day to round up the first round.
