Hussein Mbalangu has resigned from his role as the head coach Mbarara City Football Club, sighting poor welfare and administration issues.

Mbalangu leaves along with Samuel Ssenyange (Assistant Coach) and Jamada Magasi (Goalkeeping Coach).

"We have come to a conclusion after observing a number of challenges ranging from the welfare to administration.

"The welfare of the players with the technical team, inclusive, has been poor regardless of the efforts. We have tried to address them to you officially, that we did in our first term report on 04/11/2021,” reads in part the letter addressed to club chairman Mwine Mpaka.

"Making matters worse, we have accumulated arrears of two full months yet it’s the same salary that we have to use for feeding, payment of our rental apartments and our entire families.

"Barely surviving in this city without earning any training allowance, sincerely we are left with no option.

"The technical department tried its best to convince some players recently in order to reinforce the team for the second round but the administration was reluctant to engage these players who ended up joining other teams.

"This time round it is beyond our control as we feel there is lack of unity in the club. It seems some individuals have their personal agendas."

Mbarara City completed the first round in 12th position with 15 points, just four above the relegation zone.
