Iceland and Uganda face off in an international friendly match at the Titanic Sports Center in Belek, Turkey on Wednesday.
Iceland return to the fray after failing to make pole position for qualification to the 2022 World Cup when they finished 5th in Group J of qualifying Germany making it directly, runner-up, North Macedonia, progressing to the second round (play-offs).
Iceland finished second from bottom in Group J with just two wins and nine points from 10 matches.
Uganda is also seeking solace after failing to qualify for the 2022 AFCON currently going on in Cameroon despite back-to-back appearances in the 2017 and 2019 editions.
The Cranes concluded their qualification campaign third in Group B in the qualifiers, behind Burkina Faso and Malawi, before missing out 2022 World Cup qualification as well.
Iceland will present a 24-man squad comprising of mostly second-string players with Brentford's Patrik Gunnarsson out with an injury, Jokull Andresson as the replacement.
Uganda's goalie Ismael Watenga may return to goal, while Yunus Sentamu is likely to lead up front as head coach Milutin Sredojevic continues to fine tune the outfit.
Uganda will play five international build up matches against Iceland, Botosani and Moldova in Turkey while Iceland have lined up South Korea.
