The three new entrants to the 2022-23 Uganda Premier League have been confirmed following the conclusion of the Fufa Big League.

Blacks Power FC will be playing the topflight division for the first time and are joined by Maroons FC and Kyetume FC who are returning to the Premier League.

Blacks Power FC emerged as champions of the season after a come-from-behind 2-1 win over visiting Luweero United FC.

The Lira-based side topped the table with 39 points from 20 matches, a point above Maroons FC who won 5-0 away to Nyamityobora FC.

The Prison Warders survived an early scare when goalkeeper Emmanuel Akol saved a penalty before Fred Amaku, Belmos Opio, Solomon Walusimbi, Hadadi Kambugu, and Bruno scored a goal apiece.

Meanwhile, Kyetume overcame Kataka who were the other contender going into the final day 3-2 at Mbale Municipal Stadium. Kyetume led 3-0 at the break with goals coming from Ezra Bida, Ezra Kaye Kizito before Kataka attempted a comeback through Emmanuel Mukisa and Francis Odongo.
