Joshua Cheptegei was born in Kapchorwa; trains in Uganda and Kenya. He won Uganda's 1st senior gold at the WA (IAAF) World Cross Country Champs and he led the team to win the gold and silver at the 2022 Tokyo Olympics in the 5,000m and 10,000m respectively.
