The Rugby Cranes lost to England 31-17 in the 9th place playoff game at Coventry Stadium.
Aaron Ofoyrwoth, Timothy Kisiga, and Karim Arinaitwe scored a try each with Philip Wokorach converting once.
Jamie Anderson score a hat-trick while Tomy Emery and Tom Bowen added a try each for the English side who finished ninth.
Uganda had finished third – behind Australia and Kenya – in Pool D to miss a place in the knockout.
But made amends in the placement games where they put up an impressive run before falling to hosts England.
They beat Sri Lanka and Tonga to book a date with England.
The Rugby Cranes were 9th in the 2018 Gold Coast games after finishing 11th thrice in the previous editions.
