Former Uganda Cranes midfielder Micheal Azira has been nominated for the New Mexico United and Elevate Performance, Health and Wellness man of the month award.

The campaign aims at "spotlighting top level on-field and off-field performance and leadership of New Mexico United players," according to the club website.

Azira has been a revelation since he joined the United Soccer League Championship (USLC) club on 1 February 2021.

The statement by the club on the website further read;

#41 Midfielder Chris Wehan

#23 Midfielder Micheal Azira

#19 Forward Preston Tabort Etaka

The fans are now remaining with less than 48 hours to cast their votes, and this month's winner will be announced on social media.

Azira has so far made 30 appearances for New Mexico United. In 2022 alone, he has made 14 appearances, playing 673 minutes in both the USLC and US Open Cup.
