Experienced football scout-cum-coach Nimrod Charles Kintu has switched allegiance to Mbale in Eastern Uganda. Kintu is expected to beef up the technical docket at FUFA Big League outfit Kataka Football Club for the second half of the 2022-2023 season. At Kataka Football Club, he joins head coach Godfrey “Toldo” Awachango who has been working alongside Martin Munyenye and Mbale Heroes legend Ibrahim Maruti. “Mbale has been my second home away from home. Kataka Football Club itself is home as well. I am happy to serve whenever given the opportunity” Kintu who has now worked for close to 24 years in the football industry revealed. By the time of his arrival in Mbale city, Kintu has been confined in Kampala at St Andrew’s Kaggwa – Gombe High and at Bukedea-based Amus College. The decision to work in Mbale could be envisaged as a blessing to Amus College given the proximity of Mbale to Bukedea via-a-vis the close relationship between the two parties in the box (Kataka and Amus College). Over the years, Kintu has also worked closely with the Amus College director Hon Patrick Isiagi Opolot. Kintu is a holder of a CAF high-level coaching and fitness certificate. He coached in the Uganda Premier League at Gaba United (Top TV). He has also handled FUFA Big League clubs such as Kataka (Mbale), Ntinda United, and Naguru as well as regional sides Kamwokya United and FrontPage as well as Kataka. Makerere University Business School (MUBS), Bugema and Kyambogo universities were once coached by Kintu as well as underage sides Friends of Football (FOF) and Kampala Kids League (KKL).
