Uganda Premier League newbies Kitara FC continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Having been promoted to the top tier as the 2022/23 FUBA Big League champion, Kitara feels they have a statement to make to retain their bragging rights.

Brian Aheebwa is the latest addition to their arsenal after the arrival of a large number of players.

Aheebwa joins the Hoima-based side after a poor run of three years at KCCA FC. The forgettable reign of Aheebwa at MTN Omondi Stadium was underlined by injuries, limited playing time, and little harvest in terms of goal scoring.

He joined KCCA FC after showing potential while at Mbarara FC but unfortunately, that hardly came to life after the switch.

His move to Kitara will prove a new stage for him to redefine himself to replicate the huge potential he flashed while in Mbarara.

The Royals also have a new gaffer in Brian Ssenyondo replacing Sam Ssimbwa who guided their promotion into the top-tier league.

They have so far released 15 players and shipped in close to 10 players with sources to the club indicating that business at Kitara is still going on.
