Uganda Martyrs University registered a 3-1 victory against Bugema University in the University Football League at Nkozi on Tuesday.

In the fourth minute, Sanny Kaija set up Moses Okello but the resultant effort was powerful though could not find the target.

Four minutes later, there was a loss of concentration in the Uganda Martyrs' backline losing possession to Eric Sawa however his shot went wide.

In the 13th minute, Vicent Masumbuko struck a powerful effort from a freekick as Bugema's custodian Ronald Kalungi hit the pole trying to save the ball.

In the 23rd minute, Moses Okello paved the way for Wijo Taban as Coach Eric Kisuze made the maiden change.

Ivan Agamile tapped Sanny Kaija's delivery from close range to place the hosts into the lead.

Innocent Musuk came on for Fred Wamani in Bugema's first change for Bugema University.

In the 46th minute, Akbar Ssentongo tapped home with a full stretch capitalising on Taban’s low delivery to set the lights on.

Ssentongo nearly found the third for the Saints through a long-range shot but went wide by a whisker.

In the 62nd minute, Kaija missed a clear-cut chance after Joseph Kayondo delivered a low hard cross into a dangerous area.

In the 76th minute, Sulaiman Ssentongo remained with a goalkeeper to beat but failed to find to bury Bugema’s best chance.

With seven minutes to full-time Sentongo completed his brace with a perfect header at the near-pole to seal the victory.

In added time Fred Wamani gave Bugema University a consolation from the 12-yard mark.
