Uganda Premier League | Results

  • Mbarara City 0-0 Kitara
  • Arua Hill SC 1-3 Maroons FC

Mbarara City Football Club and Kitara Football Club played out to a goalless stalemate in the Uganda Premier League at Kakyeka Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The game attracted a lot of talk before kickoff due to a full host of players who were returning to their former club.

The tight encounter witnessed a worrying scenario after Mbarara City forward Seiri Arigumayo was taken to hospital after a nasty collision with Kitara’s custodian Chrispus Kusiima.

Kitara came into the game knowing that a victory would take them second on long with just just a point below the log leaders, BUL FC.

Brian Ssenyondo’s troops got several chances in front of the goal but their frontline failed to guide the ball past the goal line.

Jasper Aheebwa witnessed his powerful header bounce off the frame before the rebound was skied way above the upright.

Paul Mucureezi’s powerful effort was fully gripped by Mbarara’s custodian Hakim Nsaba who had a great day in office.

In the final minutes of the game, Jude Ssemugabi’s effort went off the bar as Kitara came close once again.

A point keeps Kitara in third position with 23 points while Mbarara City moves to ninth position with 13 points.
