KCCA FC progressed to the round of 32 after securing a 2-0 against Admin in the Uganda Cup at Mbale Municipal Stadium on Wednesday.
Muhammad Shaban scored a goal in either half to send the Kasasiro Boys into the round of 32 of the ongoing prestigious tournament.
Shaban nearly gave the visitors a lead in the fifth minute with an overhead strike but the effort went straight to the goalkeeper’s hands. Mustafa Kizza’s cross was met by Shaban but failed to go past the goal line.
After Joel Sserunjogi was fouled four minutes later, Kizza whipped in a darling cross infront of goal but the Admin’s custodian pulled off a stunning save.
In the 13th minute, there was a mix up in Admin’s box to give away possession to Ashraf Mugume but the resultant effort was duly saved.
Shaban was quick to guide the ball into the back of the net but the assistant referee flagged it offside to bring a quick end to the visitors’ celebrations.
Shaban once again was on target, breaking the deadlock in the 34th minute of the game. The hosts had been knocking on the door for a long until it finally opened.
Before the second half restart, right back Bruno Adilson replaced Rogers Atube who was cautioned earlier in the first half.
Ten minutes later, Abdallah Mubiru introduced Emmanuel Loki for Usama Arafat who was so silent in the game.
Shaban scored the second of the day to complete a brace in the 67th minute thanks to Loki's fantastic delivery from the right flank.
KCCA FC are the Uganda Cup record champions with 10 trophies equalling the mark with Express FC.
