- Bugema 0-0 MUBS
Makerere University Business School (MUBS) holds wasteful Bugema University in a goalless in the University Football League duel played on Tuesday evening.
It was an entertaining game from both sides but were very wasteful in front of the goal.
Jonathan Mugenyi nearly gave the visitors the lead but his first time touch was deflected away by Bugema’s custodian Ronald Kalungi in the 10th minute.
In the 20th minute, Sulaiman Ssentongo climbed highest in front of the goal to connect with Charles Kagoda’s delivery but the effort went high and wide of the frame.
Trevor Wakaisuka was fouled in the area by Richard Emomer but the centre referee waved on as the visiting side was left in anguish.
At that moment, the hosts won possession and started off a quick counter attack but Hillary Innocent Ayebale was spot on palming away Isaac Ssenyunja’s curling powerful effort.
Otuke fouled Joseph Male at the age of the box to give Bugema a freekick but Ayebale made a great save punching away Denis Kimuli’s powerful freekick with a double thrilling save.
Ssenyunja continued to beat bodies to pace and precision but Otuke and Marvin Atugonza worked hard to keep him at bay.
The two sides will lock horns in the return leg of the fixture on March 5, 2024 to decide who goes further in the ongoing tournament.
