Uganda Premier League | Results

Vipers secured a 2-0 victory against URA in the Uganda Premier League encounter at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Saturday.

The victory sealed the Vipers’ double against the Tax Collectors. Surprisingly both games ended 2-0 and the Vipers were on the winning side for the two games.

Moses Waiswa and Karim Watambala scored the two goals as Vipers bagged maximum points under the floodlights.

Waiswa fired the visitors home with a well-curled effort after being set up by Allan Okello in the third minute of the game.

Alfred Mudekereza made a stunning save finger-tipping away Joshua Lubwama’s glancing freekick in the 12th minute.

In the 28th minute, Isa Mubiru swung in a well-weighed delivery but Eric Kambale’s touch went inches wide of the frame.

Six minutes to the hour mark, Okello came close as his curler sailed inches wide an excellent build-up from the visitors.

Watambala doubled Vipers’ lead with a well-taken freekick in the 87th minute putting an end to URA’s attempt to come back in the tight duel.

Vipers move fourth on the log with 38 points in 20 games while URA is eighth with 31 points having played two games more.

Elsewhere, SC Villa registered a 2-1 victory against Mbarara City in a UPL duel that was played at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

Villa is third with 39 points in 20 games while Mbarara is 10th with 27 points in 21 games.
