Bright Stars secured a 4-0 victory against Gaddafi in the Uganda Premier League encounter played at Kavumba Recreation Centre, Wakiso on Sunday.
It was a strong start from the hosts who committed several bodies upfront though Gaddafi’s backline stood firm.
In the 37th minute, Nordin Bunjo was tripped in the area and the hosts were awarded a penalty.
Nelson Senkatuka stepped up on the occasion and converted the penalty from the 12-yard mark thus breaking the deadlock.
As Gaddafi fought to level matters, the hosts took the second gear thus grilling them in a second-half blitz.
Cleophus Fiat doubled Bright Stars’ lead with a long-range strike that got everyone on their feet applauding the fashion in which it was guided home.
With seven minutes to play, Frank Kizanyiro got Bright Stars’ third before Ssenkatuka put an icing on the cake in the 89th minute.
It was a joyful day for Bright Stars as Gaddafi’s misery was compounded. Today’s loss means Gaddafi has conceded nine goals in two games.
The victory sends Bright Stars to the 10th position on the log with 28 points from 22 games while Gaddafi is 13th with 18 points having played a game less.
