Uganda Cup holders Vipers SC have drawn Kitara at the quarterfinal stage of this year's edition.

The knockout tournament has been spiced up with this duel as many believe the final has come in a bit early than expected.

The tie was confirmed during the draws that were held at FUFA Complex, Mengo on Wednesday morning.

The defending champions Vipers will be taking on Kitara who are currently sitting on top of the log with 44 points in 22 games.

Kitara are unbeaten at home in the ongoing season, they have won all games and only shared spoils on two occasions.

Vipers will have a great test of character in this tie since it’s the first top-tier side they are playing in the ongoing campaign.

To reach this stage, Kitara ousted SC Villa while Vipers easily whitewashed regional side Iganga Young FC.

In the other games, BUL will take on KCCA FC in the all-top-tier affair at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru. With the Kasasiro Boys trying to find their mojo in the league they will want to keep intact their positive run in the Uganda Cup.

Meanwhile, Fufa Big League log leaders Police will face top-tier side NEC while Pajule Lions will lock horns with Pakwach Young Stars FC.

Unlike the previous games, the quarter-final games will be pushed to extra time in case the normal time ends in a draw.

In case of a draw after extra time then the two sides will be sent into a penalty shootout. The games will be played between April 10-14 2024.
