FUFA Big League side Lugazi FC agreed with experienced gaffer Richard Makumbi to part ways.

Makumbi was relieved from his duties after spending only five months in charge of the club.

The development was confirmed in a statement reduced by the club via its social media platforms.

“Lugazi FC announces that head coach Richard Makumbi has left his role at the club by mutual agreement,” the statement partly reads.

“The decision (to relieve the gaffer) comes after a thorough evaluation of the team’s performance and future direction,” the club noted.

“Makumbi leaves with our sincere thanks for the tireless efforts as head coach and our very best wishes for the future.”

The gaffer replaced William Kyeswa who was cited to be indisciplined on several occasions.

Coach Gerald Efit will handle the club on an interim basis until the club confirms Makumbi’s replacement.

Kigozi lies third on the log with 37 points levelled with Kataka who have a superior goal difference.
