Ibrahim Oriti scored twice as BUL registered a well-deserved 2-0 victory against Express in the Uganda Premier League encounter at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Saturday.

Oriti opened the scoring in the 18th minute as Express finally conceded to the early pressure from the hosts.

After the break, the hosts kept on the front foot seeking to double their lead or even put the icing on the cake.

Express custodian Abubaker Yunus made a spectacular save as he was equal to Jerome Kirya’s long-range effort in the 50th minute.

Orit finally completed a brace in the 75th minute as he converted Martin Aprem’s delivery from close range.

Express came close to picking a consolation in the 86th minute as Safi Mansoor was set up by Edgar Katumba but the hosts’ custodian Tom Ikara made a thrilling save.

The victory guides BUL to the log summit with 46 points while Express are ninth with 32 points in 24 league games.

Next on the menu, BUL will visit NEC while Express will host Kitara on Wednesday, April 24.
