Uganda Premier League | Results 

• SC Villa 1-1 Bright Stars

Bright Stars held SC Villa in a 1-1 stalemate in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Sunday.

The hosts had full control of the game from the first minute but were so wasteful in front of the opponents’ goal.

Bright Stars custodian Matovu made a full stretch save in the fifth minute as he palmed away Patrick Kakande’s powerful effort away.

Seven minutes later, Charles Lwanga came close after being up by Kakande but the final effort went narrowly wide of the frame.

Fiat Cleophus’ long-range effort gave SC Villa custodian Braddy Wokorach some trouble before it dropped behind the goal.

Five minutes into the second half, Umar Lutalo tested Matovu from a distance but the custodian was equal to the challenge.

Ashraf Mulindi finally broke the deadlock at the top of the hour as the hosts’ backline went to bed.

Six minutes later, the hosts restored parity through Jonah Patrick Kakande who guided the loose ball past the goal line.

Either side got a chance to kill the game but none was converted thus sharing the spoils.

The point left SC Villa in the fourth position with 42 points while Bright Stars lie 10th with 29 points.
