  • Uganda Premier League – Fixture
  • Vipers vs Maroons – 7 PM

Maroons will be hitting the road ahead of the Uganda Premier League encounter at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende on Tuesday, April 23.

In the pre-match conference, Maroons midfielder Ronald Orombi stated that he anticipates a positive result in the duel against Vipers.

“We believe in going to Kitende and picking a positive result as aim to hit our target of finishing in the top four,” he said.

“As you have seen from our past game, everyone is happy and motivated and I think we are good to go. We have respect for Vipers but the players there are like us so there is no difference,” he added.

Anything apart from a win will slow down Vipers’ title chase as they seek to reclaim the log summit.

Vipers sit second on the log with 45 points and a victory will lift them past BUL FC who are ahead by just a point.

With Yunus Sentamu regaining his scoring form in recent games, the forward will be looked upon to lead Vipers upfront.

On the other hand, Fred Amaku comes into this game after netting a brace against Busoga United and he will seek to keep the scoring streak alive.

However, Maroons are aware that a victory will lift them from the seventh position (38) to the fifth position (41).

Head to head

The last time the two sides met, they were held in a boring one-all stalemate while the last time Maroons visited Kitende, they were beaten 3-0.

In the last five league games, Vipers have secured three wins, a draw and lost once while Maroons have registered two wins, held two draws and suffered one loss.
