  • Vipers 1-1 Maroons

Vipers Sports Club were held by Maroons Football Club in a one-all draw in the Uganda Premier League encounter at St Mary's Stadium, Kitende on Tuesday.

David Ndihabwe fouled Bright Anukani at the edge of the box but Moses Waiswa's resultant freekick went inches above the frame in the 10th minute.

Ten minutes later, Allan Okello nearly gave Vipers the lead as he nodded Anukani's cross slightly wide of the right goal post.

Amidst the early pressure, Maroons kept in shape and held onto the 0-0 scoreline going into the break.

Second-half substitute Milton Karisa broke the deadlock with his first touch after being set up by Yunus Sentamu.

Darius Ojok restored parity ten minutes later as his shot went off Hillary Mukundane thus changing trajectory in a deflection that left Vipers' custodian Alfred Mudekereza completely beaten.

In the 80th minute, Fred Amaku had a glorious chance to seal Maroons' victory from close range with only a keeper to beat but his heavy touch skied way above the frame.

Okello was handed Vipers'last chance of the game but the forward's delivery went straight into Hannington Ssebwalunyo's hands.

The point guided Vipers back to the log summit with 46 points, the same as BUL but the former has a superior goal difference.

Maroons lie sixth on the log with 39 points gathered in 24 games.
