  • Gaddafi 3-1 Maroons
  • Mbarara City 0-0 URA

Gaddafi kept their survival hopes alive with a 3-1 victory against Maroons in the Uganda Premier League encounter at the Gaddafi Arena on Tuesday.

Rashid Mpaata broke the deadlock in the fifth minute to give the hosts the much-desired lead.

Fifteen minutes later Abraham Tusubira levelled matters to awaken the visitors' hope in the game.

Crowd favourite David Bagoole restored Gaddafi's lead with five minutes to end the game.

At the end of the first half, the hosts held onto a 2-1 lead in a game that could easily go either way.

Coming from the break, the visitors increased the game's pace as they badly searched for an equaliser.

However, it was Steven Munguchi who extended the host's lead in the 63rd minute as the Soldier Boys sealed the well-deserved victory.

Gaddafi's victory takes the club to 22 points in the 14th position while Maroons lie seventh on the log with 39 points.
